Gavaskar at his best better than Tendy at his best? I don't think so.

Was this written by Karti?

Really loved this bit
10. Highest score Index
This is the lowest rated parameter and is given to the innings if the same is the highest for the team.
Both score even number of points in this category, as Lara's 375 was HS for the team and Tendulkar's 136 was HS for the team as well. Even stevens.
Tendulkar 8, Lara 3.

Re: Highest ever test batting rankings
How could Pollock's and Walters' best both be in the same week, in the middle of a series where RGP dominated but KDW was just passably mediocre in bad company, with Pollock only five points ahead?
Esp since Walters' 68-69 Windies heroics were by then more than a year past, and a series and a half ago, and SA hadn't played at all?

Why is Bradders only slightly ahead of the pack? I'd have thought his highest rating should be about 1500.

Sage, RobI.
But gotta laugh at P (Drunky) > L > T.
And even the old grumpy fart Harvey > L > T.
Nice to see SRW in the top 30 all-time, ay h?

Perhaps the maximum score is 1000 in whatever formula they use.

The gap between 1 and 2 is 16 points which is the gap between 2 and 12.

Interesting how that list has KP ahead of the likes of: SR Waugh, Chanderpaul, Tendulkar, W Hammond and R Dravid.
While KP is class, I wouldn't put him ahead of the aforementioned names. (Not just yet, anyway).

It's the nature of the formulae used though. Rewards medium-term form over long-term excellence.

Yeah, makes sense.
Can't complain if you think about it - Pietersen got his final points of that specific ranking against the Windies (226 at Leeds) and Tendulkar against Zimbabwe.
The bottom end of that list shows most of the players getting points against poor-ish opposition, bar Andy Flower.

I confidently predict that Petals Sr. will be the only Zim to ever get on that list.
And, given the batting paradises around at the minute, there is every chance he will drop out soon.

Correct.
OK, so if someone averages 200 in tests, they still will not reach 1000 on the scale - they might get 995 depending on the rating of the bowlers faced and such.

Maybe the only way to get 1000 is to pile on 10,000 runs without ever getting out, and never playing Zim or Ban.

seriously for Sreesanth's sake when are you gonna stop with these stats Taipan, i am sure this list has been posted about 27 times on this forum alone.
next time you might as well post the water and electric bills of some random 20 users in Johannesburg ( just make sure every thing is in US dollars)

Maybe I should just post some random crap about. fast bowlers?
And to call your bluff I am sure you can easily bounce those threads where this list has been posted. I, for one, have never seen it here.
Maybe you are thinking about crappassion.
