Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Bit of a tradition for me. Every three or four years, pissup and some mad gambling in the NT with a Rugby match on the other channel. Though the Rugby was better first go around in 2001. Election result was just as insane mind. Katherine FFS!

The wozzies are in a pickle. They should stick with their current leader. The ex Transport Mini seems to be a total grub.

about as real as the fake spill the pinkos had when the greatest numbers man in wozzie pinko history challenged the poodle without having the numbers

Interesting...thought Barnett was better, though he leads an extreme rightie crew.

The WA mining boom and financial goldmine obviously covered up Barnett's shortcomings.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Vic Emergency Services Minister Lisa Neville, it would seem, made a total balls of MFB Akela Peter Rowell's resignation (grave ill-health according to Lisa on Friday, internal bullying according to the Rowell clan today).
This is far from Lisa's first foot-in-mouth moment over a long and undistinguished Ministerial career that began in the Bracks era, and it sems she is not getting better with experience. Like an over-hydrated Horrie at 3am, she just has to go....

Strong mail that NSW Premier Mike Baird will announce tomorrow that he's backflipping on his ridiculous decision to ban the greyhound industry.

Hard to see how Baird lasts long after this fiasco.
If nothing more that from the look that he is owned by the shock jocks.

Baird, for tory filth, seems fairly decent. Pity if he goes. Still the spivs deserve everything they get.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
From the Fitzfiles today:
Rising star shines
Wow, Clara Iemma. The 18-year-old daughter of Morris Iemma, finished the National Under 18 women's tournament as Player of the Tournament, Player of the Final, leading run scorer and equal second highest wicket taker. She nailed 288 runs at 57.0 with top score of 105, 13 wickets at 8.46, and was also the best bowler in the final, taking 4-25. Bravissima, young woman. Be great to see you in Australian colours in the near future. Many are proud, but I suspect no-one more than your father. Don't ask me how I know, I just do!
(Our former Premier claims no credit for her extraordinarily skill, saying it was more a matter of her playing so many "Tests" in the family backyard with her three brothers. "My major contributions," he says, "was arbitrating the disputes!")

5 was the max for the offence I think .
Happily, the judge denied an immediate bail hearing pending an appeal.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Yes NTR on my part, but putting this in the correct thread...
NSW Premier Mike Baird resigns
"Mike Baird will quit as NSW premier next week, he announced this morning.
"Serving as Premier of NSW has been a tremendous honour, but I have made clear from the beginning that I was in politics to make a difference, and then move on. After 10 years in public life, this moment for me has arrived," he said in a statement today.
Rumours Mr Baird was contemplating retirement began circling Macquarie Street during the government's back down on plans to ban greyhound racing. Possible replacements touted for the party leadership by MPs included Treasurer Gladys Berejiklian and planning Minister Rob Stokes."
----------------------------------------------
Decent man who farked up with his decision to ban the greyhound industry.
