Why should the Feds be having all the fun...

'Predatory behaviour': NSW minister under fire amid cheating claims

Alexandra Smith

The NSW Innovation Minister, Matt Kean, has apologised for the "spectacular" end to his relationship after his girlfriend, a media adviser to Malcolm Turnbull, shared explicit texts Mr Kean sent to the Miranda MP, Eleni Petinos.

Mr Kean issued a statement late on Thursday night after his girlfriend, Caitlin Keage, shared screenshots of text messages between Mr Kean and Ms Petinos on Instagram.

"I was in Adelaide trusting my partner not to play up. But alas, here we are. Another minister getting away with his predatory behaviour," Ms Keage's Instagram post said.

Under the screenshot of the message she also wrote: "When your boyfriend cheats on you when you're away with family @matt_keanmp."

Mr Kean's statement said: "I am deeply sorry my relationship with Caitlin ended in such a spectacular and sad fashion. I wish her all the best."

The messages, which Fairfax Media has seen, appear to suggest a sexual relationship between Mr Kean and Ms Petinos. They were sent on December 27 last year after about 10pm.

In the text exchange, Mr Kean asks what Ms Petinos is doing and he says he is "temped to drive down and see you".
"Miss me, huh," she asks.

"Yup, really need to f--- you," he responds.

Ms Petinos says Mr Kean has "CK" for that and then tells him it is "that time of the month".

Fairfax Media contacted Ms Petinos and she asked that questions about the text exchange be emailed to her but she did not respond late on Thursday night. It is undersood Ms Petinos, who has been married, is not in a relationship.

Ms Keage did not respond. It is understood her relationship with Mr Kean has been on-and-off. Fairfax Media has also seen recent photos of Mr Kean on the dating app, Bumble.

His office declined to comment on his activity on Bumble.

The revelations will embarrass Premier Gladys Berejiklian, who is in the US at the National Governors Association meeting. Mr Kean is close to Ms Berejiklian and is considered a rising star.

Ms Berejiklian has said she does not intend to follow the lead of the Prime Minister in changing the ministerial code of conduct to ban sexual relations between ministers and staff.

That's a bit "revenge porn" of Ms Keage, no?

What's that about a woman scorned??

I have rarely seen anybody who can out-qunt or out-whine Eric Abetz but Nick McKim has comfortably achieved both tonight.

The Greens concession speech was a bit more genuine. At least O'Connor congratulated The Libs which is more than Labor did.

Sadly, their former Attorney-General, Vanessa Goodwin, passed away on the same day aged 48.

Very sad. I met her a couple of times. Very nice lady. Strangely, her mother also dies from brain cancer & i was told today by one of her Rotary group members that her dog died two weeks ago, also from cancer. Weird.

In good news Victoria looks like changing law to ensure religious organisations cannot weasel out of law suits by victims of abuse. Other States are likely to follow.

What they really need to do is end tax free status for religions. Islam alone has 453 organizations paying no tax in this country.
