Emerging reports from Connecticut suggest some of these poor kids were shot 3 - 7 times with an assault rifle.

the weirdest thing i see in all these shootings is how easily the kids get access to guns registered with their parents. i would think guns and ammunition is one of the first things you would want to keep out of reach of your kids. not cookie jars

Seriously, no eternal punishment would be good enough for that gutless piece of crap.

Aye, it beggars belief that someone would tear apart a kiddy with a rifle. Still, when they lock him up, his arsehole will be stretched to 4 times its size.

No matter what side of political spectrum is, the hypocrisy is obvious.

The left for example talks passionately about gun control and the loss of lives in such tragedies. Yet they are perfectly fine with the killing of millions of unborn children, year after year. Who could be more vulnerable and worthy of protection than the one who has no voice - literally. Yet the left has no issues with that.

The right has its own hypocrisy on various issues.

There's no hypocrisy if you don't believe life starts at conception.

However, if you DO believe life starts at conception then the only hypocrisy is thinking gun control is a bad thing.

Even with our gun control, bad things still happen in Aust as well:

Girl calls police over double murder
December 16, 2012 - 4:53PM

A nine-year-old girl called police after her mother and her mother's partner were shot dead in Tasmania.

The bodies of a woman, 31, and a man, 34, were found at a property on Hamilton Plains Road at Hamilton, a small rural town 70km from Hobart, about 5am (AEDT) on Sunday.

Detective-Inspector Colin Riley said the alleged gunman, a 59-year-old man, was previously in a relationship with the dead woman.

He was found at Lachlan, 45km away, lying beside a car pulled over to the side of the road, with a gunshot wound to the head.

The man's one-year-old son, whose mother was the dead woman, was unharmed and found inside the car.

Det Insp Riley said the man's gunshot wound was inflicted shortly before or just as a police car arrived.

The man is under police guard at Royal Hobart Hospital in a critical condition after surgery.

Det Insp Riley said the nine-year-old girl called police using a mobile phone.

"It appears to me that the nine-year-old heard what occurred in the house and we are still ascertaining ... what was seen by that child," he told reporters at Hamilton.

Det Insp Riley said the dead couple had been in a relationship and living in the Hamilton house together for about four months.

He said there had been no reports of violence involving the dead woman and her alleged killer.

The children, including a third child who was not in the house at the time of the incident, were being cared for by their grandparents.

Det Insp Riley said the shooting had shocked the close-knit community.

Back on the school shooting, seems that several teachers were killed shielding their students and the principal had the clarity of thought to turn on the PA so the whole school could be warned just before she was shot.

And all but one child in a year one class of 16 kids were killed.

Yeah, grim coverage on the Nine Nooz. How would you cope finding out that your little blue eyed 6 year old princess had been shot to bits? Horrendous stuff.

And Denham Hitchcock's demonstration of how easy it is to buy a semi-automatic assault rifle was scary. 400 million guns in the US and counting fast. Shocked

That's the problem. You can't possibly get them out of circulation now.

Best thing would be to put a giant wall around the entire US and come back in about 80 years and see who's left.

For those who have pay TV, try watching programs like 'Sons of Guns' to get an insight into the gun mentality in the US. In one program they reconditioned into working order a Bofors anti aircraft gun...for a private owner. FFS!!

Just after the latest shooting there was an incident where people were left wounded but police nearby managed to limit the damage.

Was amazed to hear on the news that some people own up to fifty guns. WTF would you need so many?

One to match each outfit. Fashions important you know.
For the rednecks, that means one for each baseball cap.

Re: Another school shooting in the USA

Post by Anthony_Gonzales on Sun 16 Dec 2012, 19:37

One has to realize how deeply ingrained guns are in the American culture. One historical reason for that is the fact that the United States was formed on the basis of a fundamental distrust of the government. Hence in the constitution

- specific right to bear arms.
- guarantee of free speech, the kind which is not present in most other parts of the world (well, in theory anyway - this is another topic entirely though).

This distrust of the government is also the reason for the almost fanatical opposition to taxes in a large section of the populace.

This is also the reason why many believe they have to have guns, in order to protect them from the government - which could at some point come to kill them and their families, take away their possessions. It may sound unreal to many, but that is the strong belief of many.

It is not just the rednecks who own guns. Many educated, professional folks own one or more guns too. Many have concealed weapon license. Guns are so much part of the culture that even many immigrants who would never otherwise have ever owned any guns in their native countries, they too start owning guns.

Going to the shooting range and blasting away is the preferred method of stress release for many.

Sorry but that line of thinking is ludicrous. First of all the constitution written over 200 years ago by people who subjugated women and didn't consider black people to be people. Sorry if what they think may not be relevant in 2012.

Also do people really think they can take on the government? The government has nuclear weapons and the largest most well trained military force in the history of human kind. Some guys in Alabama and Mississippi can't fight the government if it came to that.
