Cheers Bas and Pete. I think I've retained a little more of the right index finger than the mighty Dave Allen did with his left.  Cool

Not pissed at all. It was 10.30 am. Pure carelessness with a task I have done many, many times before. Let my hand get a bit too close to the teeth on the saw table, saw bogged and kicked and in a blink my hand had bounced off the blade.
Familiarity breeding contempt. Happens to the best of us

Now that is a grouse plan. The youngest has a boyfriend who is studying to become an Industrial Arts (or whatever the discipline is called these days) teacher, specialising in Woodwork. He was lecturing yesterday about wood cutting safety.  chainsaw

When you retire, you might get a part time gig as the "after model" on his bad woodwork practices class.

Just for that I'm gonna ask for the "before op" pics when I see the doc, and post 'em.  Cool

Haven't been yet able to get the "before op" pics, but had the fingers redressed this arvo. Not great photos (shit phone camera) but presenting Stubbie 1 and 2...

You're a hard marker, qmy. He's the best on the Upper North Shore, and his assistant said he tidied up a couple a very mangled digits. Most docs would've simply cut both off below the top knuckle, given that both tips were hanging off. Cool

Meh. I had a large Sebaceous cyst removed from my neck a while back. I had eight needles in my neck & the most painful part was listening to the surgeon's bad jokes as he hacked the bloody thing off.  Laughing

Yep did something similar last year. Had one the size of a golf ball removed from my back. He wanted to do a general but I said do it under a local in theatre. The funniest part was when he knocked a tray of sterilised instruments to the floor. The theatre sister was not amused.

I had the hugest, nastiest needle I've ever seen driven through my stomach into my liver. The pain wasn't as bad as I feared. But the five minutes where he prepped me and fart-arsed around with the thing were close to the worst of my life.

The Chief reckons the thick tumour biopsy needle into the boob was the worst pain she's felt.
