I went to the game. The margin flattered the. Swans. Given we were flogged by the lowly filth, the Bloods now were an aberhave a strong case for a priority pick in the draft on top of pick one.
They have reverted to the team I grew up supporting. The past two decades of success were an aberration.

Re: AFL 2017
Shitty tipping round continues, with ruckless Melbourne overwhelming clueless Bombers, and my mob really struggling at half-time against the despised Collingwood, as they often seem to, even when Collingwood are beaten senseless by all other sides.

Oh well Lardy, at least your mob has not been beaten by the weasels and filth as well as the scum. All we need is a loss to the drug-ons to complete the quadrella of ignominy.

Interesting that we seem to have this hex on the Cats atm. Ironic too that Scott's contract was extended prior to the match and the Pies were coming off a five day break.

Happened last year too, and the year before IIRC. Even in 2007 I believe the one loss that occurred after round 5 was to Collingwood.

'Yuk'. A very poor 4/9.

What chance a draw in Carl v Coll, to keep alive the run of both having the same result each round all season? (LLWLLW)?

I think 4s and 5s would be the norm for the round.

Re: AFL 2017
I've locked the razor blades away and had a look back at the recent record between the Cats and the Pies, thinking we had not beaten them more than once or twice in the last 5-6 years ... and it has been pretty bad, definitely qualifying as a 'hex' as suggested by Red, especially given the Cats overall games record over that period (a win ratio of over 70% since Scott took on the coaching position). The three recent losses had obviously clouded my memories of the two previous victories, two and three years ago now.
2011: Cats by 96 (149-53), Cats by 38 in GF (119-81)
2012: Pies by 12 (96-84), Pies by 31 (110-79)
2013: Pies by 6 (102-96)
2014: Cats by 11 (87-76)
2015: Cats by 41 (100-59), Pies by 48 (110-62)
2016: Pies by 24 (104-80)
2017: Pies by 29 (107-78)
So, since the 2011 GF, the Cats have won just 2 of 8 games v Collingwood. All games have been played at the MCG with no true home games for Geelong at Kardinia Park; maybe that's been a factor absent in the Cats-Pies games and present when we have had better results against other sides. Whatever, the Cats have to find a better way to play the Pies.

In my view it's a hex, principally because we have been pretty shyte during the Bucks era. For some bizarre reason we sometimes buck the trend (no pun intended), when we play the Cats. For example, today off a five day break on the back of some horrific football against the Dons, it would have been hard to tip us.

Re: AFL 2017
yep on all counts, and no matter how well we're travelling overall, we play like shit when we come up against Collingwood ... perhaps it's all a cunning plan to keep Buckley in his job?

Some tough games in both leagues next week.
My (tentative) tips:
Giants, Adelaide, Collingwood, Port, Cats, Richmond, Swans, Melb, Freo.

Re: AFL 2017
There is a certain symmetry to the ladder after 6 rounds.
Just one team has won all 6 games, just one team has lost all 6 games.
Three teams have lost just one game, three teams have won just one.
Three teams have lost just two games, three teams have won just two.
Four mid-table teams have split their matches with three wins and three losses.
