Hehehe. Go on admit you were just flipping over during the ad breaks of Four Weddings and a Funeral.

If they ever make a biopic of Life of Brucie, Hugh Grant would be on the short (boom boom) list to play him.

The problem with the CB is it isn't bad enough. I had no intention of watching the nrl players assoc awards but couldn't take my eyes off it. Like a train wreck. Seen better organized eoy pissups at Cunnamulla.

I have the sound down just to follow the count and turned it off before the speeches.
The count is boring, but all the other stuff packaged for tv makes it frustratingly elongated.

Just heard there was some bitching over goal of the year.

OK so if I was framing a market I could now install Joe Daniher as favourite and Jack Darling as second-favourite, but I think I could still get absolutely cleaned out by some John Doe or other

Yep. Prolly his last. Clearly he was worried about whether Dusty could string a few words together. Theonly problem with him going is there will be more of Taylor. BT is nearly as woeful as Eddiehead.

Mind you I would rather an hour of McGuire than one minute of Slobbo. There is funny bigfooty (non sequitor) thread on the Cult of Robbo. The thread collects many of Slobbo's remarkably stupid utterances in print and on the airwaves.

Re: AFL 2017
Gilligan did a great send-up of Robbo when he stood in for him one day last week.
Dusty's ability to form sentences would not have been improved any by the Bruce gawping cow-eyed up at him....he did well in those circs to spit out anything intelligible. Yep, Bruce must be nearly ready to follow his old mate Dennis into retirement.
Sadly, another legendary voice that mightn't and shouldn't be heard much longer is David Parkin. He turned 75 during the finals, and although his tactical sense remains, he is struggling harder and harder to find the word he's looking for and I hope he jacks it in before that gets irritating. His contribution to the game is second to none.

Re: AFL 2017
Story on the appropriately-named Yahoo News about Barry Hall thumping two blokes in a QAFL Grand Final over the weekend. Yobbo News compared the incident to Staker, and bandied 'disgraceful' around with gay abandon, but the League gave him one match for one hit and cleared him for the other.
Doubtless the SBM will do what the SBM does with this kind of story, but reading it I just felt sad with a vague 'big bloody deal and 43 Other Players In That Game etc etc....'

Re: AFL 2017
Mea culpa. I woke up this morning after falling asleep during Four Weddings and a Funeral, bleary eyed and more than a little bit swacked, to hear something about Danniher and outrage. They were obviously talking about mark of the year and not goal. My bad.

In his playing era, he was a rarity, a classy and fair back pocket player!

They were 'wrong'* to be rubbed out mid season

like I said ...there is a mess to be cleared up...which should have been done when Fyfe bumped Riskytelly 3 seasons ago and would have missed a Brownlow for it if he didnt belt Jordan Lewis later in the season

Re: AFL 2017
Bit of a Howeler not to give mark of the year to Jeremy, but it was voted on by the masses and nobody barracks for the Pies these days.
Thought Buddy would get GOTY, despite running too far. Rioli's was arguably the third best, but the Tiges are definitely flavour of the month.
The MRP is in sore need of revamping yet again. Dangerfield not impressed at all by this inconsistent body.

Somebody better tell Sam the Sub and the rest of the gang at Outside Football......the LMPFSP might be a tad surprised to hear that also.
