I'm sure Zimmy has not resorted to wearing a dead quokka on his bald noggin.

Iain Shedden, apparently. This seems sudden and unexpected.

I've probably read more (music) articles by Iain Shedden than by any one cricket writer.

I knocked off the puzzles on Saturday as per ritual when time permits and then went looking for the travel, the music and the book reviews - certainly did not anticipate this.

I personally think any music produced after about 1980 and isn't pub rock is crap but I do love good writing. I normally leave the puzzles to Wednesday when my brain starts to function almost properly.

RIP Roy Dotrice

He was 94. I have enjoyed his acting in many different roles over the years. The first one back around 1970 was a TV series in which played an old man who was continually ending up in court appearing before a judge played by Alistair Sim. I can't remember the name of it.

I think the name of the show was Misleading Cases. I particularly liked the episode about the negotiable Cow.

'Negotiable' as in a cheque written on the side of a cow? Vaguely recall the show - another episode had skulduggery and drug abuse in the local rose festival. It was

(Just looked the show up on IMDB - whoever named the characters should probably ease back on the Dickens....)
