Yeah, Duvall plays messianic figures well. Still if you go back past Orwell or even Kafka, no much of it has come to pass. Good luck maybe?

Thanks for that; I didn't know the film had been made.

The appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel to investigate alleged connections to Russia by the Trump Presidential campaign team is bad news for Trump.

Mueller is supposedly unmovable and incorruptible, so no amount of lobbying by Trump or his team will sway his resolve.

Meanwhile Trump calls the ongoing festering of the Russian connection the "greatest white hunt in history". Where there's smoke...??

'witch hunt' I think he said, although your 'typo' might also reflect on US society

well orange is more accurate in describing the Trumpster.

I see Mueller has a connection with the same law firm that services* Donny.

I see that intense preparation of the Don's trip has extended to ensuring his meal options always include Steak and Ketchup and that his guests will only give very short simple speeches with lots of graphics.

Skully, I find your antipathy to to the right wing nutter heartening. How do you reconcile Abbott, Truffles and for that matter Shortpants, support of the Dumpster.

Respect for the office of President of the United States is different to respecting the person in that office

The same as being a Cardinal in the Catholic Church means you have some respect even if you are as potentially grubby as George Pell

Embee I no longer have automatic respect for the position of potus and certainly have no respect in offices in religious bodies.

The Trumpster is the purest expression of his office which has been in the mire since FDR.

Trump is a fraud who is used to throwing his weight around in real estate deals. Holding the position of most powerful man in the world bears no resemblance to his previous role, something that seems to shock him.

The Donald's bizarre tweet

He won't admit that "covfefe" (which now has it's own hashtag and has gone viral) was a late night typo ("*coverage"). What a buffoon.

In other news, he has pulled the US out of the Paris Climate Change Accord.

The USA is a rogue state with Nicaragua and Syria the only other countries to not endorse the Paris Agreement. Maybe trade sanctions should be applied.

Trump is the purest expression of old style US imperialism - a distilled modern day combination of Nero and King Canute.

Maybe Melania was giving him a heady as he typed "coverage" and he hit the gravy stroke after 3 letters?

The first rule of Covfefe is not to talk about Covfefe. Cool

I'm betting that Oxford names it the best "new word" of 2017.

It is almost as good as "farnarkling".

Phrase of the year has to be "alternative facts", coined by Kelly-Anne Conniving.
