Congrats to the Vile Vomits.

Clearly the best team all season and deserved Shield winners.

Henry wrote:The format of the Shield Final consistently ensures it's a complete dud as a spectacle as each teams looks to bat forever in search of first innings points. Fox Sports has cottoned-on to that which is why they are no longer broadcasting it.

Les (Autobahn) Burdett ensured the draw by helping prep the pitch. Kudos to Sayers and
Dutchy who both bowled well. Any match where the tail in each innings were able to hold fast and score runs is destined for a draw.

Hopefully the last time Alice Springs is used, if Burdett is involved. Otherwise, a quiet 'Huzzah' for my mob and congrats to the Jellies (and Head) for fighting it out.

Might be time to just award the Shield to the ladder leader at the end of home and away, maybe find a way to spice up the points system.

The vomits had a virtually unbeatable lead after 9 rounds ...and teams in positions 2 to 5 after 9 rounds all had a chance to finish second

awarding the shield to the top team would have meant the last round was a waste of time

Well the last round was a waste of time as it turns out. Make it a four day match with a draw resulting in a one-dayer the next day.

High praise indeed for the winners.

CA want to even the competition. Their answer is to insist on the BNLG coaching Victoria.
