I've heard that if you record the Lawson dulcets at 33rpm then play them back at 45, you get a noise that sounds alarmingly like the dreaded Jones..
That made me laugh.
Has their ever been a decent Jones on the wireless? Not just the Parrot, but Deano and the insufferable bore Barry (who I've twice heard deliver eulogies at funerals where he talked mainly about himself). Did Tony Jones ever do radio?
Perhaps we should be grateful Geraint - he ain't - Jones is not covering Tests.

Seb Gotch just missed out on doing the same. Dismissed for 98.
It has been a good round for the wicketkeepers with the bat.

Not bad.... Bit too religious for me, but thoughtful and a melodic voice.

It has been a good round for the wicketkeepers with the bat.
Jimmy Peirson also had the opportunity of scoring a maiden Shield century today but has declared with his own score on 82 not out. Still, it was the highest score of his FC career.
Also, an unbeaten double ton for Joe Burns.

NSW all out 208. Moo 67. Bird & Bell three each.
NSW trail by 184 not that it matters as rain is forcast for tomorrow.

Peirson declared QLD innings nearly 100 behind, while on 82*, definitely going hard for the win. I like his style.

yeah I saw that; still a bold move, looking toward the Shield Final rather than safety

Tassie enforces the follow on. Not a bad move with rain forcast. NSW already 2/16 with a pair for Larkin.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Rimmo takes the first two wickets in the SA 2nd innings.
This is the first time he has taken more than 1 wicket in an innings in a Shield game for Queensland. When he previously played for the Bulls, he only took 5 wickets in 8 matches. Then he went to WA & took 92 Shield wickets for them.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Three games in progress, all with one day to go:
QLD will be hoping that South Australia declare around lunchtime with a lead of 250-ish in a bid for outright victory that also gives them a chance. This could be a very close finish. I fancy QLD to win, because SA will want to take the chance on their own victory.
WA are still well behind in the game (~ 120 runs) and in danger of setting only a very small final day total for the Victorians to wrap up yet another victory. With 10 wickets in hand they will want to bat well into the last session tomorrow; their only chance of a draw is also their only chance of a win ... if Vic have to throw the bat to make around 150 in 25 overs, things might just get interesting. Most likely, though, this will be a Vic win, or perhaps a draw if WA bat very well over the first two sessions.
The TAS v NSW game looks destined for a rain-ruined draw, sadly, although Tas is well on top. Their only (faint) hope of victory over the hated Spivs is a session or two of acceptably dry weather and a superb spell from Bird and Bell. A draw, I believe.

Twosies a chance for an innings win over the Spivs. Draws in the other games are the likely result.

Spivs need 12 runs to make tas bat again with one wicket in hand. Bird has four.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Looks like Peirson should have kept batting & scored his century. South Australia don't seem interested in declaring.

NSW 184 all out. Tas need one run to win. They might just scrape in.
