Bird & Bell both off the ground injured. I guess Bailey had no choice than to toss him the ball.

Four wicketkeepers in the top 6 (Wade Doran McDermott Doolan) ... with two bowlers off injured, one of these guys had to bowl.

Weed is a reasonable bowler. Not a surprise he was ok.

Looks like the Barrels v Vix game will be a draw, unless there is a big turnaround.

Gabe Bell out for the rest of the season. Shame, he was having a good season with 24 poles in six games at an average of 19.

Duck in the 1st inning?

Meanwhile the Spivs seemed to be about 50 short of a decent target and paid the price. Dopes.

Lol..... Can you outline the bad schools that the minority attended?

What is a,bad school?

I attended AM expensive school. In no way could I describe it as a good school. It was violent and a bastion of misogyny. Several relics of the joint became tory pollies, afl players and captains of industry. Half my mates from those days are now dead. Some in their late teens and early 20s.

Expense does not = good.

I have plenty of other mates who attended government schools. They left school better prepared for life.

Handy win for the Vix. Up off the cellar floor.

Good effort from Makin. Expect bnlg boosting, given Bird's injury. P

Shield season now wide open ... only Sozzies out of it? Even they are not totally out of it.

The next round might see more certainty.

Why all the injuries at this stage of the season ... a sudden return to 4 day cricket after a long period of T20?

NSW Blues squad: Peter Nevill (c), Harry Conway, Trent Copeland, Ed Cowan, Mickey Edwards, Dan Fallins, Moises Henriques, Daniel Hughes, Nick Larkin, Nic Maddinson, Kurtis Patterson, Gurinder Sandhu, Will Somerville, Charlie Stobo
West End Redbacks squad: Callum Ferguson (c), Tom Andrews, Tom Cooper, John Dalton, Jake Lehmann, Joe Mennie, Harry Nielsen, Alex Ross, Cameron Valente, Jake Weatherald, Nick Winter, Daniel Worrall

Tasmanian Tigers squad: George Bailey (c), Alex Doolan, Jake Doran, Andrew Fekete, Hamish Kingston, Ben McDermott, Riley Meredith, Simon Milenko, Sam Rainbird, Tom Rogers, Matthew Wade, Beau Webster

Western Australia squad: Jake Carder,  Hilton Cartwright, Liam Guthrie, Matthew Hanna, Clint Hinchliffe, Andrew Holder, Josh Inglis, Simon Mackin, Josh Philippe, Jonathan Wells

I assume cricket.com.au has left off the line with Turner Bevilaqua and Bosisto or the alternative is the wozzies are playing 10 third stringers vs the Twozzies.
No Maxie in the wozzie team
Kelly joins the list of quicks with sore backs

Victoria squad: Cameron White (C), Fawad Ahmed, Scott Boland, Jackson Coleman, Travis Dean, Seb Gotch, Marcus Harris, Will Pucovski, Matthew Short, Peter Siddle, Chris Tremain, Eamonn Vines
Queensland squad: Jimmy Peirson (c), Brendan Doggett, Luke Feldman, Charlie Hemphrey, Sam Heazlett, Marnus Labuschagne, Michael Neser, Lachlan Pfeffer, Matthew Renshaw, Mark Steketee, Mitch Swepson, Jack Wildermuth

Hope Pucovski gets a go.

Lots of youngsters getting a go in most squads.

Should be another good round.

WA have 14 out through international commitment or injury. Still a fair side, and one without Klinger. Not in their top 25, or unavailable?

Congrats to Puck on his return from injury for the Vics, and to Mil, Derryn, Noddy and the other new boys on cracking the WA side.

Doubtless Horrie will not need telling that Jackson Coleman is the son of 50-gamer at three AFL clubs including his, Glenn 'Galaxy' Coleman.

No I didn't know that. Ta! Galaxy was great fun to watch, tho sometimes infuriating when he played for the Bloods. Hope his lad gets a go. Sids may have to stand aside.

Mr bucket's point re: Maxy Klinger is valid. Has he made himself unavailable to support his wife in her cancer battle?

I can't imagine why the Wozzies would leave him out of an undermanned side.

Mainly in the Tower. Wonderful servant of Oz cricket though he has been for a long time, maybe he should concentrate on short form cricket.

Even Ptomaine and Mark are ahead of him in long form formats.

Century to Matt Renshaw. Off 149 deliveries which is quick scoring by his normal standards.
