And the damage could have been worse had de Kock been exposed earlier and allowed to improve the scoring rate.

Probably would have got there too with the batting to come.

Bangers still a long way from being competitive overseas, it would appear.

Still a bit early for that even comparing against other teams and how long it took them to be good overseas. That's also ignoring that they were rushed into tests.
Of course, Bangladesh were beyond horrible this series.

10 for Rabada. Well done him.
Another abject display by the Bangers. [sigh]
Congrats to the SAffers on a comprehensive series win.

Yeah, just comparing with their more than competitive home form recently, winning Tests against England and Australia.tricycle wrote:Still a bit early for that even comparing against other teams and how long it took them to be good overseas. That's also ignoring that they were rushed into tests.

I guess it’s hard to get their players much experience of non-Asian conditions, in the longer game particularly.

Test cricket is more and more about home advantage.

Amazing to think that SA lost four wickets for the test, while Bangers lost twenty and still being 170 odd in arrears. Talk about a tale of two countries.

A win by 16 wickets and 170 runs (you know what I mean) must be up there with the biggest beatings of all time.

My paper had it as an innings and 254

The Bangles could have batted again and they still wouldn't have surpassed the Saffie score.

Even worse then. Indeed they could have had another whole innings and still not passed SA's one innings for the loss of four wickets.

One issue is that they didn't have their two best players. Then they'd have lost by only an innings and 50-100.

Some might say that Steyn, Philander, Morkel and AB might have also made a difference.

Thank goodness de Kock wasn't exposed too early, though ... hey, Red.
