New Zealand walking this match against the West Indies. Finn Allen's been fantastic.

Afghanistan beat Pakistan to top off a great day for Pakistani cricket.

Dreadful game from Austin Waugh - more Dean and Danny than Mark and Steve it seems.

Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka as well. Through to the quarter finals. They won the Asian U19s a couple of months back.

h has been a scathing broken record on the Waughs since the ABC forum days.

SRW would be one of the 1st picked in a Best Aus XI since 1985, and MEW would be in the XII. Steve Smith would take his no. 4 spot.

My Best Aus XI since 1985:

Hayden
Langer (pipping Warner)
Ponting
Smith
Border (c)
S Waugh (vc)
Gilchrist
Johnson
Warne
Gillespie (just pipping Alderman and Harris)
McGrath
M Waugh (12th)

Looks close to me although I would have Healy over Gilly given that the team isn't short on batting. Breece Rude would also be in the conversation for the Dizzy spot but with MJ there as the lefty he moves to the second XI.

I'd have Taylor over Hayden; and I think either Jackson Bird or Andy Bichel has the best claim to 12th.

Re: Sasquatch: a very good bowler; he just picked a very bad time to get the yips. It's not like he was Dave Gilbert* or anything.

Brad Hogg or Tom Hogan?

* insert alternative names eg Dave Colley, Dave Renneberg, Graham Corling, Doug Bollinger, Simon Cook, etc as required

If Bruce Francis [the antichrist] had ever bowled I'd have flung him in with that heap of shite as well.

I have no doubt BF bowled in the nets to otherwise and of course in contradistinction, capable batsmen. I blame his net bowling for the carpness of our batsmen in that cruelly benighted era.
