Hawks easily, but cannot be judged until they meet decent opposition.

North triumphant - won't finish round one on the bottom.

Adelaide may have peaked last year.

Port look dangerous - but see comment on Hawks.

Ross Lyon favourite to be first coach sacked this year.

Doubt Lyon will be sacked. Watched bits of Pies v Dawks. It was fun watching Burgoyne and Rioli calve up the Pondies. Agree about the jury being out on the Dawks. The real magpies were impressive with all their recruits showing a bit against Freo.

Lardy, that was mean re poor old North.

Just read excerpts of figjam's presser. Totally distanced himself from the performance of his team. 'Spose they will finish higher up the ladder than #lolNorf and Eddyhead will justify figjam's contract extension on that basis.

Port beat Freo by 89 points last year

They are flat track bullies who all run ahead of the ball against weaker opponents

None of their recruits will help them defensively

They are a good side but they wont beat the top 4 away from Adelaide

Lyon has pictures of the Freo board

Meanwhile, I have been watching the Buddy show as the Swans are 4 goals up at half time. Have flicked over to the dispirited rabble playing the Yarps. Ot much inspiration there. Vern having fun at Starc's expense.

Huzzah! Good guys get up by 29 points. Buddy kicked a lazy 8 in a terrific all round performance. Nice to see the Weasels go down. Stadium looked terrific and the Bloods skipper said there was not a blade of grass out of place.

Has cheered me up a bit.

I expected my mob to lose, but was disappointed that the clangerfest was even more pronounced than usual.

Doesn't augur well for the rest of the year.

NicNat had a good first-up game but as usual it's weeks 2-6 that will tell the full story.

Yep. Little to no system or apparent strategy. Buckley is an ordinary coach. McGuire's man crush is great for the other 17 teams.
