Re: Trivia 2018
Phil & Zaza (300 each) in Jo'burg, December 2013:
India's first match after Sachin's retirement - the team couldn't see through their tears, so they allowed the hosts to notch up the second-highest 4th-innings score of all time to draw a match, and third overall. Both keepers bowled (first time ever in Test cricket). India is crying still.
Don't know of any others where two bowlers both hit 300 in the same Test.
But Johnny Briggs and Charlie "Bunsen" both chalked up 100 in the Knee in Feb 1895. The first ever players to hit 100 wickets in Tests - and in the same one.
Charlie Bannerman and "No-Baller" Phillips umpired it.
Aus ran away with the Test, England managing 137 runs in 2 innings, thanks to Charlie and Giffen (and a bad dose of two Trotts).
But if England had been India, they could have claimed a moral victory, since Bill "Old Radford" Lockwood only managed to bowl under 9 overs, and was completely unable to bat in either innings (his hand had been badly cut by an exploding soda water bottle before the match).
Charlie never played another Test, so he chalked up his century just in time ...

Well, traditionally in cricket, wicket milestones are 100s and runs 1000s. Smarty mullet lips.

Half right Peter. Yes, the first instance of the SAME wicket milestone in the SAME Test was Briggs and Turner in the Test you refer to. But the other instance is the last time 2 bowlers made A milestone (but not the same milestone) together in the same Test. In the case you mention it was Philander reaching 100 and Zaheer Khan reaching 300.
I'm after the last time two bowlers reached the SAME wicket milestone in the SAME Test.
Two bowlers reaching same wicket taking milestone in the same Test:
First instance in Tests - 100 wkts - J Briggs (Eng)/CTB Turner (Aus) – Sydney(4), 1895-96
Previous most recent instance - ?
300 wkts - M Morkel (SAf) & NM Lyon (Aus) - Cape Town, 2017-18
Don't forget the Bonus Q of the 3 other instances of two bowlers reaching the same wicket milestone in the same Test.

I am puzzled by 'there have been 6 instances overall, name the other 3' after you had provided one.

Errrrr, after you name the initial 2 I asked for. Derrrr.
You know - 1 (provided) + 2 (asked for) + 3 (Bonus) = 6
Comprende?

Right. It seems a strange if not slightly convoluted way to set the question. It's your 'book' though.

Warne took 500th in the 1st Test in Galle while Chuck got his 500th in 2nd Test in Kandy.
JGK wrote:Mallett and Arnold - SCG 75
Actually you've found one that I hadn't. So that makes 4 instances in the Bonus Q, but it's not the most recent before the Cape Town Test.
Two bowlers reaching same wicket taking milestone in the same Test:
First instance in Tests - 100 wkts - J Briggs (Eng)/CTB Turner (Aus) – Sydney(4), 1895-96
Previous most recent instance - ? (in the past 10 years)
300 wkts - M Morkel (SAf) & NM Lyon (Aus) - Cape Town, 2017-18

It's why I put the Bonus in small print - to not distract from the main Q. You seem to have gone to the small print first.

Re: Trivia 2018
So to make things clear, I was after:
- the first instance of two bowlers reaching the SAME wicket milestone (multiple of 100) in the SAME Test (already answered by PCS).
- the most recent instance of two bowlers reaching the SAME wicket milestone (multiple of 100) in the SAME Test (prior to Morkel and Lyon in Cape Town) - still required.
Then as a bonus, please find the other 4 instances in between of two bowlers reaching the SAME wicket milestone (multiple of 100) in the SAME Test.
[exasperation mode ON] Picky barstewards [/exasperation mode OFF]

So it is. Phil was just a stripling then.
"Phil" Harris ("Woodman, spare that tree" / "Bear necessities") & Cod each struck a century of scalps at Centurion just before Christmas 2010 (First Test vs India).

Re: Trivia 2018
In the recent Cape Town Test a new record was set for most batsmen dismissed caught (34):
34 batsmen out caught - SAf (311 & 373) v Aus (255 & 107), Cape Town, 2017-18
Which Test held the previous record?

Damn straight. And he won the MoM, to rub it in.
I have a similar feeling it was at the WACA in early Feb 1992. Where the first 21 wickets were catches.
And Peter May was the Match Ref.
Four centuries. Sachin vs the Green an' Gold.

Re: Trivia 2018
Here's a teaser.
To my knowledge, only once in Test cricket have both wicketkeepers also bowled. (Though not at the same time.)
Which was the Test?
Who were the keeper-bowlers?
And bonus points: 1), 2) who kept wicket when the keepers were bowling?
3) How many runs did the side batting fourth fall short of victory?
