Bangladesh tour of Australia
Even late last year there was talk of a Bangladesh tour of Australia in 2018. For that matter, it is still included in the most recently updated ICC Future Tours program. But there aren't any specific dates announced. So ... is this still on?
They chalked up test wins against England, Australia and Sri Lanka in a twelve month period and it would be nice to see how they fair outside of Asia, now. Probably still expect them to lose but at least be competitive. Their last (and indeed only) test series in Australia was 15 years ago.

Those winter Tests in Cairns went well ... not sure why they've never been repeated.

when you say 'well', how are you measuring it? likeability/crowds/tv ratings?

Re: Bangladesh tour of Australia
weather, atmosphere, fitting into the calendar of Tests required, the Sri Lankan game went the full 5 days and the Bangla game went as long as you'd have expected an Australia v Bangladesh match to go at that time.
Why can't we play 2-3 match series v NZ, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe or Sri Lanka around Cairns, Darwin, and perhaps Townsville through June July when then weather is very stable up there?

Not saying anything bad about them at all. Just a good time to get 3 Tests in.

Good time for Bangladesh anyway, they would never get a better opportunity to win in Australia.

Not in Fortress Oz.
But Tamim might have got a 50 at some point.

Aye.
We may be without 3 of our best bats & Koo & 2nd, but Purple, OP, (& ?) and Elmer would still make mincemeat of the Bangers in Aus.
And UFTB Ooze would make a million runs.
And I'm with lardy on the value of winter tours. It's a great opportunity for northern communities to see our best cricketers live and a great oppo for the minnows to fit into our schedule.

Re: Bangladesh tour of Australia
If they were to play right now, I suspect Aussie heads would have dropped so much they could well lose the first Test at least.
