I watched bits of Vic v Jellies today and enjoyed the Cooper and Biff knocks. The Jelly innings provided a good contest between bat and ball.

Watched a few OP overs and thought he need the gallop. Sids, Ptomaine and Fawad were serviceable, while Boland who came on as second change bowled well and got a bit of movement.

The Vic side was unbalanced with four specialist seamers and a spinner. I expect the Vics were 'instructed' to only bowl OP a certain number of overs. (high performing Pat Howard, anyone?)

The Vic openers seem to have had a role switch with Dean being the aggressor (played well) and Harris being the stodgy opener, aiming to bat all day tomorrow.

It is hard to tell when streaming through a laptop but it looked like the pitch offered a bit of pace and life again - thank Zeus. It offered a bit for bowlers and batsmen once set.

Weird scorecard for the Spivs - alternating 50s and <10s for the 7 batsmen to date.

Sounds about right. Langer was singing his praises on the nooz this evening FFS.

No surprise when one of the alternating bats is Reeks, who made one of the best 7s you'll ever see.

To be fair to Puddle he did come to the crease at 3-42, so his 15 is merit-worthy.

Seriously unbalanced looking scorecard for the Sandies with 2 scores over 130 and no others above 50.

Jellies in with a real show. Vics need 101 with 8 wickets in hand.

I don't think we're getting much play (if any) today

True. Gone a little apocalyptic in Zeus central. Any play will be intermittent at best.

Both still teenagers. As long as Trev doesn't big them up they might have decent careers ahead of them.

NSW media already proclaiming both as saviours of Oz cricket.

Points at ladder and recent Vics slaughter of the Spivs.

Used Bosisto responded to a bake from the Assassin with a maiden ton.

Love the hoopla re Mere answering his critics. The critics just look at his mid 20s average and laugh at the nepotism and the cbnlg crowd who run Oz cricket.

NSW & Tas trying to manufacture a result with a couple of sporting declarations but a draw still the most likely outcome. Dools unlucky to be out on 90. Tas 2/169 still needing 180.

Geez I didn't realise that Elmer had given the Spivs a late chance at the SCG.

He took 4 quick wickets to have the Tozzies 7-250 with 11.3 overs left in the day.

But Beau Webster and Jackson Bird survived that period.
