Re: Football WC 2018
They did say that the French were a good team to come up against first up. Still the French have been ordinary against our super ordinary lineup.

I probably would have signed up for 2-1 if the French hadn't been so crap.

Admit it, you just hate the French.
Pretty safe to say France won't win the WC if that's the best they can do.

The plucky lads from Argentina have managed to hang on for a 1 - 1 draw against the might of Iceland.

I bet the Women in France would love to be married to a French Footballer, they go down so easily.
Good effort by Aus, just lacking that touch of Polish up front.

I was gonna say quicker than a ten buck hooker, but yeah it's a blight on the game. I've rolled less falling down drunk on a steep slope.

Re: Football WC 2018
Did OK. A miracle could still see us progress ... if France can convincingly beat both Peru and Denmark, we beat either Peru or Denmark, and don't lose the other game. No other way, is there?

If Australia defeats Denmark, but loses to Peru, it is possible for them still to get through on goal difference. However, they can't afford to lose to Denmark unless France lost to both Peru & Denmark.

Mexico - 1
Germany - 0
Another defending champion loses their first match. Three of the last four.

From the highlights Mexico seemed to have the better of the game - on the field and on the scoreboard.

Re: Football WC 2018
So England squeak thought to a deserved win despite scorning a number of early chances. They weren't helped by some frankly indifferent refereeing.

Usual same old same old England.
Flattered to please and sneaked a jammy winner in the dying minutes.
All the usual sh*t about excellent preparation and the players' well-being pre kick off amounted to sweet F.A.

Nah, better than that I thought.
Should have buried the game in the first 15. But then so should have Brazil and Argentina.

Yep. First job will be not to lose to Denmark and then we'll be alive for the final match.

Just got back from a week in Lisbon. I was at the main square for the Spain match - needless to say, it went off when Ronaldo got that last goal from the free kick.
