Flood lights and rules
Why the fracking 'ell do we have them but not use them fully? Again the paying customer is short-changed by idiotic rules that see play abandoned because the flood lights unsurprisingly are brighter than the sky at 5.35 pm in the evening? Safety? We have day-night tests ferkrissakes so that's a non-starter. If test cricket does die on it's arse it won't only be the short forms taking custom away it will be the several moronic test cricket regulations. Woakes and Curran were happy to play on so the umpires should butt out and let play continue. It's not even a joke cause some of them are funny.

Re: Flood lights and rules
Lack of allowing the umpires to exercise commonsense has been a blight on the light rule for many years. The advent of floodlights should have allowed play well beyond that that is generally allowed these days.

Woakes and Curran's preference shouldn't be taken into consideration as their choice would've been much different had the score been 150/6.
Taking that decision out of the batsman's hands is a recent rule change I'm pleased about.
