Recovery going on, they are 5 down for similar to what we were. I can't see them getting 300+ but you never know.

Poms 3 down - Herath needs 3 of the last 7 wickets to go part Kapil on the All Time list.

We’ve got a whole team of 8s, well, 6s and 7s perhaps, so one of them has to bat at 3. It’s a sacrificial lamb position anyway unless you find a really good specialist (we haven’t had one since Trott) - may as well stick Jimmy Anderson there...

Congrats to Herath on going past Paddles. Now for Sturat and Kapil.

England in a strong position, effectively 4-330.

Jennings proving he can bat in Asian conditions again. Which will book his place for the Ashes, to average 1 against seam deliveries bowled at the stumps.

You'd think Leach will keep it tight and Rashid and Moeen will get the odd one to turn big enough times to grab the 10 required.

Are't they now "picking horses for courses", which is why Jenning's is currently in the side?

Hopefully he won't be anywhere near the Ashes side if that's the case.

I think that’s more the case for bowlers than batsmen... there may be the odd tactical selection for the balance of the side, e.g. there’s no way they will bat Moeen at 3 at home, but in general, if you’re the man in possession and you score runs, you’re in the side, regardless of who and where we play next.

Alternative openers aren’t exactly breaking the selectors’ door down either.

Good win, just play 3 openers in the Ashes series and then Root and the all-rounders plus Stu and Jimmy.
