Football - 2018/19 season
With Murinho's booting, seems an appropriate time to have the right Football season thread.

Good start for OGS.
Apparently* it's the first time Man U have scored 5 goals in an EPL match since Fergie's last game.

So 4 on the spin for MU. OGS the only United manger since Sir Matt in 1946 to win first 4 games.

All-English final looks on the cards... El Brexico?
United have a 1999-like (or Chelsea 2012-like) feel to them at the moment. Every chance they will win it now (and Solskjaer be sacked before Christmas with them in a distant sixth place...)

I put this article on my work's internal social media site on Friday as a bit of an FU to my boss.
https://theconversation.com/its-not-about-him-leading-lessons-from-manchester-uniteds-caretaker-manager-112281
I took the liberty of posting the actual final paragraph:
To be a great leader you don’t have to be most successful, intelligent, or even most competent person in the room. It is about how hard you work at managing a collective sense of “we” among the people in a group and respecting the values of this group.

Haha. I guess your boss is not all that great. Maybe he/she read it and thought, "hey that's me. .... except I am the smartest one in the room"

I'd say it's more about how you manage a collective of "me" personalities. Even more so nowadays.

Yeah, a lot of great managers of the past wouldn’t succeed in charge of today’s generation of players.

Re: Football - 2018/19 season
Hi the name's q, long time looker, first time poster. WTF is wrong with Spurs and where can I get professional help. I mean this crap has been going on since the sixties and the only silverware is some FA cups during the Falklands where we needed argy help.
Always thereabouts, only recently keeping inside the four. FFS the FA produce stats on dirtiest team or hated teams and we regularly came out fifth or sixth. Just outside the cool kids comp
Anyway seeing there's not even a page of posts on this thread I thought maybe a general therapy session concerning your team.

Bit dated now, but since it's turning up on the sport pages time and again... Don't believe Hennessey's excuse at all. Surely, nobody can be that thick.

Former Socceroo Bruce Djite has retired from playing for his Indonesian club team at the age of 32....leading to (but def not 'begging') the question following the recent sad passing of Bruce Yardley: Are there any more Bruces left in Australian sport?

Is it just me, or has the Scum turned to shit as soon as OGS was officially signed on as Manager?

Abolute horse shit. There was no reason why play should be stopped for that injury.
