Even better, thanks to mrsq. A name that translates as a bird of prey, one that prowls from on high but strikes from down low. Which is also a segue into triv, as a salute to skulls whose kidnappers at this very moment are debating whether it's worth the bother ransoming the bat shit boring ( more bird refs) spiv.
This isn't UWS or Middlesex Uni, you're not going to be spoon fed with simple questions. A unique record, the clues are above, you may have to think. The bird makes its mark in two types of terrain.

Well in regards to Warner I would have said chickenshit, deadshit, bird rained, peahen hearted, he was actually wearing canary yellow, but it's actually a sort of serious piece of triv and one from which you can use his ( the subject of the triv) hometown to segue in a couple of different directions, but one in particular to Australian iconology and apt considering an upcoming WC semi.

You might have to give us a clue which language (a South Asian or Middle Eastern language??) the word translates from?
Nasir Hussain?
Saqr-ain Mushtaq?
Baaz-il D'Oliveira?
Basha-rat Hassan?
But you said Aussie, no? Abstruse ...

Well mrsq speaks more languages than C-3PO and she's prone to having me on, butunique record, high/low, two different terrains . The bird thing is just a side bar, but think Africa.

MARK, you say. AFRICA, you say. But unique and on two terrains? (The latter sounds like Kenya/Tanzania - highlands and plain. Or possibly South Africa: Highveld & Table Mtn high, other regions low ... or something...)
Well, Mark Vermeulen was outlandish in many ways, perhaps unique. And had two careers. But his name seems to have something to do with a mill, not so much a bird. Less still a bird of prey
Birds were a favourite subject of the aethereal French painter Francois BOUCHER (pronounced differently) ,,,, but that's a bit far-fetched if it's Mark. Esp. as I can't think of any sort of bird. Bowery bird? hardly.
And as for this, if you're getting at Cosgrave, well, that's just uncalled-for ...

The bird reference isn't going to help. It just is. I was researching some stuff and wanted to check what I thought was an incorrect reference, when I came across this, unrelated to my original query, name. On checking his career, he holds two cricket records you probably don't want to hold in two different disciplines across two formats. I'm surprised Pommie forumers didn't get it.

Didn't that ultimate global bird - part temperate, part tropical, part arctic -
Rook Macaw-Skua
