"It may be that dementia is claiming another giant, this time a musical one.
Sources connected to the Young family have said AC/DC co-founder, guitarist and songwriter, Malcolm Young, whose retirement from the band was announced on Wednesday, has been moved into fulltime care in a nursing home facility in Sydney's eastern suburbs specialising in dementia.
...
According to the Young family connection: "If you were in the room with [Malcolm Young] and walked out then came back in one minute later he wouldn't remember who you are. He has a complete loss of short term memory. His wife Linda has put him in full-time care."

Just 61. A tragedy that he can't remember the 3 basic AC/DC's chords any longer.
Alcohol-related dementia most likely. 'Korsakoff's'.

Hard to believe The Band refused to allow this clip to be used in the Woodstock movie because they thought their performance was'nt good enough.

Could be by that stage they'd eclipsed it. But it shows at least they just weren't window dressing for Levon.

I don't think that was ever the case, especially while Robbie Robertson was with the group. They were at loggerheads for much of the time over songwriting credits.

Danko at his best. Its a travesty to think most people believe Julie Driscoll had the original version of this song.

They swapped around instrumentally a fair bit and there were times you just assumed there had been a love-in, I was talking about perceptions and even a perception about Helm's perceptions.
