Landa to movistar confirmed. Good thing as it weakens sky. Of course, he might not be the undisputed leader yet if valverde recovers.

With Contadir gone, trek would've been perfect IMO

A few other moves now confirmed.

Kittel is leaving Quick-step for Katusha Alpecin.

Quick-step have replaced him with Elia Viviani from Team Sky.

Sky in turn have signed Jonathan Castroviejo from Movistar, and David de la Cruz from Quick-step.

And again, sky off to a decent start in the TTT along with sunweb. Trek were poor, and Bahrain alright.

Froome retains the leaders jersey in the Vuelta a España. Hard to see him being challenged.

Contador might get a "fairytale" stage win in the final mountain stage of his final Grand Tour. He has a good lead with less than 4km to go but it is a tough climb.

Really enjoyed the race, overall. Nice sign off for Contador. Froome writing himself into the record books, and it never looked certain till today.

Wonder if he'll attempt the Giro to hold all three GTs.

Clearly the most likely. But hope he does the Giro. He's won the tour enough. If successful, he'd only be the second rider to hold all the grand tours at once.

The International Cycling Union (UCI) has reportedly advanced Chris Froome's defence for having excessive levels of the asthma medication Salbutamol in his system during the 2017 Vuelta a España to the next level.
French daily Le Monde reported on Friday that the UCI found Froome's and Team Sky's explanation unconvincing and have now referred the matter to its Independent Anti-Doping Tribunal.
Froome had twice the allowable amount of Salbutamol in his urine when tested on 7 September 2017 as he rode to his first Vuelta victory.

A drug he should not need take at all. It’s not as though it has preventative value.

Chris Froome crashes during a reconnaissance ride of the 9.7km time trial course at the Giro. Looks as though he escaped with cuts & bruises.

Rohan Dennis currently leading the time trial.

Apparently* Roahn Dennis is only the 23rd rider to have worn a Pink, Yellow and Red jersey at some stage during their career.

Just got back from a long weekend away & catching up with the Giro. Dennis must have put in a blinder to take pink but after stage three his lead has been cut to nothing. BTW how weird is it to have a rest day after only three stages?
