Damn.   The reviews are all really positive.

I'm getting suspicious.

It's being tipped to smash the box office record set by Avatar back in 2009.

Nup. Don't much like the format, though this is so well filmed you could see it being worthwhile seeing it in 3d if you're into it.

Basically Abrahms has just shown every big budget action film director for the last twenty years how it can be done.

Hope it kicks Avatar into oblivion.

No, I am being forced into it. I have 2 cinema complexes within 10kms of my house. Ironically they are across the road from each other. The nearest 2D is 50km each way. Of course the 3D ticket is twice the price of the the 2D ticket. Bastards.

Spoiler:
Heh. Looks like we will really find out if that's true as he seems to be set to play a much bigger role in the next one. I thought he was considerably fat and out of shape these days, so I'm not sure how he'll go with the light sabre duels.

Saw it yesterday. Very good, I'd be reluctant to say it was great, though. And......
Spoiler:
I can't believe they killed off Han Solo. Obviously it was done for major shock factor, but I think a lot of grown ups will be very disappointed that Harrison Ford apparently won't be involved in any future films.

Nah - couldn't go today. Might try tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I see that while it broke US opening weekend records, it didn't beat Jurassic World's worldwide opening record. OF course, that might have something to do with which countries it opened in.
