I felt sorry for Dave Reynolds who pretty much lead until lap 140 when he cramped up.
Don't feel sorry for Reynolds, feel sorry for his team and co-driver.

Aye, his team would've at least got 2nd if he had've OKed Youlden getting back in the car at the final pit stop.
As it was, in his fatigued state he released the clutch and spun the rear wheels on the jacks to cop a drive through then came in later and changed drivers.

Fastest qualifier Van Gisbergen gets pinged for a kerb hop on the Top Ten shootout at the Gold Coast 600, leaving pole to McLaughlin.

A win to Mostert, Lowndes came from 21st to get 2nd (and take the Enduro Cup - Sandown/Bathurst/Gold Coast trio) while McLaughlin got 5th to Van Gisbergen's 11th, after the 888 racing crew stuffed up the pit exit and Van Gisbergen got a drive through.
McLaughlin is now 14 points ahead of previous leader Van Gisbergen in the Drivers Championship.

Fantastic finish to the penultimate race of the season, with Van Gisbergen getting McLaughlin on the 2nd last corner as the latter ran out of fuel (LOL @ Penske).
Just 2 points now separating the Giz from Scotty.

Pretty shit day all round.
The new Mustang supercar went like a scalded cat for McLaughlin in Adelaide, the Drags got smacked by the Bunnies in the Charity Shield, and Aus playing like busted arses in the 1st Jamodi v Bannies.

Damn Mustangs are fast, espesh with sheep piloting them.
McLaughlin takes both races in the season's opening weekend.
At least the 2nd race had a safety car which shook up the boring procession (of the day before).

Head of the 888 Commodores Roland Dane says his workshop with have to "engineer against the unfair advantage", clearly having issues with the parity testing of the new Mustang.

Re: V8 Supercars
Early days but maybe they've equalised the Mustangs for the 2020 season.
Much more even racing yesterday, with Scott McLaughlin not going like a scalded cat like last two seasons. He got 2nd.
Whincup opened the season with a win for the retiring Holdens, Van Gisbergen was 3rd in the other 888 car.

In the absence of Holden v Ford, will the stench of petrol fumes, slabs of shyte beer and Jack Daniels suffice to keep Bathurst and Super Cars going?

As they showed in late 80s and early 90s, without Holden v Ford the sport will struggle.

2020 season to restart on June 27 at Eastern Creek.
Gold Coast and Newcastle have been dropped for this shortened season and another race added at Bathurst.
Wouldn't it be great if they reversed the direction of racing for the other Bathurst event?

Re: V8 Supercars
It's still a worthwhile tv product without the crowds unlike the practice sessions we're about to be subjected to in a couple of footy codes. And the crews are covered head to foot in ppe
