Good thing it's in England and not Oz. Much easier to claim asylum.

Absolutely fantastic NZ effort. You have to fancy Australia now though to win the trophy.

Prove you're an enemy and you get in with little effort in UK now. Even those who left to fight for ISIS have been given homes and food and money. They should have all been jailed for life. Or better still kept out for life.

Re: World Cup 2019
Yes. We know who has the moral victory, again.
But furriner, just a quiet word:
(((It is a very long word, ending in an A, and starting with a B ... )))
Well defended, NZers. Every time it looked as if it might be slipping away, BANG a crucial wicket. I like the look of Lockie's bowling. Proper quick. Might be a handful, whoever he faces in the final.
Great contributions from Jadeja, one of the players of the tournament, though oddly shunned for so long. Was he intended - like Lyon for Aus - as a secret weapon, to be brought out only for the key matches? He very nearly won it .. ball and bat and fielding, phenomenal and versatile effort.

THE BREXIT VOTE EFFECT:
"Will cut red tape - YAY!!" - greatly increases volumes of bureaucracy, inefficiency & officiousness.
"Take back control!" - alienating more & more: a power grab by Alt-Etonians & scavengers.
"Leave the EU, join the wider world!" - boosting xenophobia, resentment & irrational antagonism - even towards people actually *born in Britain*, even towards British expats - and ramping up the grand-righteous hostility levels of each to each.

The weird part was it didn’t work that way. My sons’ passports were renewed in a day, although they are SA born

And Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is about to be confirmed as the first Governor of the Unincorporated US Territory of Little Britain. Let’s all raise a glass of Budweiser to him and his boss, President Fart...PeterCS wrote:INTERLUDE:

Maybe they were lucky enough to find a sympathetic (i.e. fast-tracking) broer in the Passport Office!

Meanwhile, back at the cricket, well done NZ. Not many people gave them an earthly. Perhaps we will hear less of them being lucky to get to the semi-finals.
Now bring on those Aussies.

Re: World Cup 2019
Well, they ultimately progressed to the semis by the couple of inches between Boult’s foot and the boundary rope, going back to the WI game. They’ve rarely dominated, but they have had a habit of getting through close games, and that can take you all the way.
If they face the Aussies they will get blown away as per four years ago, but against England there’s always the chance of stage fright for the hosts.

Congrats to the snoozies.
Seems that E-Koli wants a change to the Tournament structure. There seems to be a problem when the team leading the tournament after the round robin does not get a second chance if they lose their semi.

Same thing happened to The Hurricanes in this years BBL. I agree. There should be some reward for finishing on top.
Re: World Cup 2019
Now England. Choke with the home pressure like the pretenders you are. As for Kohli bitching. Apart from the fact 1st place was a close run thing, there may be a case for something like automatic entry to the GF with the remaining teams fighting it out for the other spot. Mean an extra game so you may as well expand it to a top five and make it a live tournament for more teams towards the end of the RR.

Re: World Cup 2019
lol. Keep the same structure. The idea of a final 5 in a nine team comp is an overreach. The present system which the Bannies wanted rewards the the team finishing top with a semi v the 4th ranked team (theoretically the weakest).
The Bannies had their chances. The Snoozies won the toss and batted in the worst of the conditions. The Bannie top order failed under pressure. Do not deserve to be in the Final.

What are the stats about batting first in this tournament. Seems like chasing has been very hard.

Don't know but historical stats are working nicely for me. India has a crap record against NZ. The weather might have had a play in some of these results. It seems to become overcast as the day wears on.
