Wallaby Watch Empty Wallaby Watch

Post by Big Dog Sat 09 Jun 2012, 08:41

After the usual false start to the season where the wobblies once again let Scotland get away with a win by fielding a second XV, the real season starts tonight with a test against Wales.
Wales hav'nt won in Australia in 43 years but will probably go into tonights game as slight favorites, especially as the Beale/Cooper fracas in a Brisbane boozer has stolen the headlines.
Should be a close fought game.

Wales deserve to be stronger favourites. The Wallabies will struggle to penetrate through the mid field. Genia needs to have blinder for Australia to dominate.

All reports state we were awful. Worrying period for Welsh rugby. Forget the Six Nations we've proved ourselves there. We should think about those pesky Southern Hemisphere teams who are ruling the roost.

This is going to be a difficult Test series.

Wales weren't awful. They lacked intensity.

Actually, for some reason I thought that the 87 WC 3rd place playoff was held in Australia.

Thought the new look SA looked fairly good against England. A few missed kicks and a late consolation try made the score flattering to England.

Wobblies take onWales again tonight. Aust are still having injury problems with Horwill & O'Connor unlikely to be available until the end of the season. I think Wales will be a tougher unit this time after blowing the cobwebs out inthe first test. Should be a pretty even contest.

Agreed BD, there really isn't much between them, a missed tackle, a goal kick, an inconclusive try ruling.

Could'nt get much tighter. Wobblies get home with a penalty after the siren.

I reckon Smerky will be crying into his Cornflakes this morning after that one. Laughing

The Northern Hemisphere teams just can't seem to close out the wins when they get close. Who would have thought it would be Scotland saving them from a collective whitewash this summer?

You never like to lose, but england can be reasonably content. SA may be rebuilding but then so are we and from a lower start point.
