Zimbabwe Triangular Series (Zim, SAf, Aus), 6xODIs + Final, 25 Aug - 6 Sep, 2014
Pretty sure the Zim/SAf ODI thread will barely make page 2.
So, the Twat trod on a ball and pulled yet another heart muscle, and Fuse monstered a tired SAf A attack on a flatty in FNQ. Talk about other shit that might have sumpent to do with this upcoming series.
That'll get us closer to the Pak v Aus Test series in late October in UAE (yes, another shitty 2-Test series). Before that, of course, is the obligatory circus of a JAMITT and 3 JAMODIs.

Think it was their third string attack as they sent guys like de Lange who had played in the first 'A' match in which Hughes failed twice, to Zim. for their ODI series.

This one is on Foxy, apparently*. I'm feeling a bit cricket starved - might give it a watch.

Zimbabwe win the toss & send Australia in. This is going to be amazing. But I think I'll watch Time Team instead even though I have seen them before.

Must be due an Elite Panel recall with the shortage of non-England/Australia representatives...

Crabby McCrabstick start finally ignited a little by consecutive Finch zaks. Aussies look rusty on a slow deck.

Can someone remind me why the Ranga Farkwit isn't in the squad? Resting after IPL? Injured? Giving the young blokes a go.

You asked for this ...ya SGDT
"After a long few months of non-stop cricket, and with a baby on the way, I need some time off.
We’re into the final couple of weeks of IPL 7 and I have to say, from a personal viewpoint, the batteries are slowly draining.
It’s been a long, long few months for me from the Ashes summer to South Africa and then Bangladesh and I’m looking forward to a break following the two-week training camp that will be waiting when I get back to Australia at the start of June.
That’s why I’m grateful that Cricket Australia has suggested that I sit out the tri-series against South Africa and Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe that is scheduled to start in late August.
Candice and I have our baby coming in September, so it’s fantastic to be able to have that time off.
Since Darren Lehmann came on board as coach he’s told us all that family comes first, and that’s a big thing because we’re on the road for a long time. So that any time a major personal matter crops up - whether it’s a family member being sick, getting married or having a baby – the exemption is there for you.
With the World Cup coming up next year and the fact that it’s an ODI tri-series in Zimbabwe, I would normally immediately put my hand up for selection. That’s because playing for Australia is what I’ve always wanted to do since I was a youngster and you never want to miss an opportunity.
But that’s what happens in life – you settle down, you get married and you have children.
In fact, Candice and I discussed the timing of a baby so with some planning and a bit of good luck the birth wasn’t going to coincide with a Test series or the World Cup. And while the Zimbabwe tour was being talked about, we didn’t know the exact dates that it was going ahead.
So we’re all extremely happy to be able to spend that important time at home in the lead-up to the birth, and now my other main focus will be the series that comes after Zimbabwe, against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.
Hopefully between now and then I can freshen up, do a lot of strength and agility work as well as get a fair few net sessions under my belt.
But between now and then my Sunrisers Hyderabad team are looking for a strong finish to the IPL season and a place in the finals."

REally can't see the point of taking Haddin on this trip. Should have given Whiteman a run.

I agree. Haddit was considered to be past it for ODI's when Paine was given the mantle (pre injury). Even though his form is reasonable, at 36 they should be looking for a serious replacement.

The next Gilly is a season away ...Haddin wants to play in it ...you'd need dynamite to get him to miss the tour
