Re: Celebrity Death List MMXVII/The Death Thread 2017
RIP Thin Arthur
"Actor and musician Rory O'Donoghue, best known for his part in as “Thin Arthur” on 1970s ABC comedy Aunty Jack, has died, aged 68.
The father-of-four’s death on December 13 was revealed in a Facebook post by daughter Jessica last week, in which she celebrates her father as “an incredible musician, a great athlete and a wonderful teacher”.
...
Ms O’Donoghue thanked supporters in a follow-up post Saturday, revealing her father “suffered from severe depression and mental illness for many, many years”.
“He sadly took his own life while being treated in hospital,” she wrote.
“Despite his amazing life, talent and success, he was not able to overcome the illness that plagued him."

No!!!
Earlier today, for some random reason of internet exploration, I watched a Youtube video (extracted from the usually dreadful 'Where Are They Now') of Graham Bond and Rory O'Donoghue. I had not heard this sad news.

He certainly was ... 15 years old, wielding a guitar, when Bond first met him.

Some here will relate to this:
O'Donoghue was also an accomplished musician and was responsible for the guitar solo on Kevin Johnson's single Rock and Roll I Gave You the Best Years of My Life.

Sad news indeed. I packed down against Stan in an Aust Barbarians v Tasmania game in 1980. A very hard man but always played in the right spirit. A Wallaby legend.

OK! I never worked with the lady. I do know I wanted to kill Beattie when he gave her husband a state funeral. And that guy was a beneficiary of our farked up legal system. I've just always given her the benefit of the doubt. And if you can work out the contradiction in this post.....

Precisely. Beattie was a disgrace not just with "The Joke" of a State funeral but with the hundreds of thousands sent to the BPs for 24 hour nursing care at home provided to BP prior to him Rotting in Perpetuity. Flo demanded and got more. As a person she was little more than a Mugabe wife or an Imelda Marcos.
I had a small amount of contact when Joh was alive. One of the health programs I had a key role in was the Home and Community Care (HACC) program which generally provided two or three hours of care a week to old fogies.
Qld fogies had less money than other States because Mr BP thought HACC was a socialist plot and refused to sign the Cth State Agreement. One of my jobs was to achieve equalisation. The source of the money to give BP around the clock home care was this program. So the old criminal got 24/7 premium and bloody expensive home care, while QBilly oldsters often had to wait for the two to three hours of home help they got.. For the BPs the money they got was not enough. Mrs BP was just smart enough to use a phone and hounded public servants.

I'm actually auditing a HACC program ATM (amongst many). And I'm in the middle of farking nowhere. It's a disgrace considering the wealth of this country. And I still want to kill Beattie.
