None really, Chandan. I was just doing a lardy and resurrecting a random thread from the archives.

It seemed somewhat appropriate, given the likelihood of Roy not going on the tour.

Well, we supporters hope not but Roy seems to be a bit of a head-case at the moment.

As I said, I hope he grows a brain, grows up and realises that he is living the dream. He must stop opening the possibility of chucking it all away for the darn IPL.

Modi has asked Symonds to keep playing for Australia because IPL would like to have just the present cricketers not retired ones unless they were exceptional. In Modi's word " IPL is not for a bunch of retired cricketers".

And I hope it's not just a case of Modi trying to look like he genuinely cares about the state of world cricket (because I don't think he does).

Modi might not care about world cricket but he certainly cares for IPL and hence he'll try to keep it as different from ICL as possible. Also, if Symonds retires now and CA doesn't give NOC, Symonds can't play.

So if Symonds is thinking only about earning millions then he'll have to go to ICL which are offereing decent sum as well. I read that Bond got much more than what Dhoni did in IPL.

I hope Roy's pride in the Baggy Green counts for something.

if he has retired he doesnt need CA's NOC does he? thats illogical

symonds is not a warne or a mcgrath (and even they were not taken in the 1st round of bidding). if he is not playing for aus his value will drop immensely
