That one would've been given out on review (after about 5 minutes).

Or they may have already wasted their reviews two hours into the game, disagreeing with the umpire disagreeing with their histrionic appeals.

Good point, sir. There have been a lot of 'Broad' appeals.

Got no idea why they've been so unsporting to be honest, especially with India still in such a comfortable situation.Brass Monkey wrote:tricycle wrote:
They'd be applauding 24*7 in earlier matches if 50s were cheered. Fatigue methinks, and a monkey painting is met with applause. Extrapolating that to fielding...
This is Test cricket though. And these gents have just resisted your mighty attack.

We have the lead. I'm scared though. Prior's beans are going... that's when the looseness usually comes in.

Oh didn't realise Gambhir's grandmum had passed away. He's not on the field and won't be opening most likely if at all taking part in the match. RIP her

RIP GG's Granny.
Great work by Chef and Prior to make India bat again. Keep going, lads.

Only 30 odd overs of pace as compared to 80odd of rather ineffective spin, time to question Dhoni again.
Without any woofing attempts, England should get a nice lead considering those still left.

Sad news for GG.
India won't need him for the rest of this match, so he is in the best place. (This is meant as a statement of fact, not ironically.)

Good effort England. Brilliant from Cook, excellent. There was a shot of him early on today with Compton. He just looked the picture of serenity. So composed. Batted for 501 minutes so far this innings and he looked tireless. Prior again looked natural at the crease in any situation. We'd have crumbled in this match if not for these two, who have 341 out of the 541 we've scored so far.

Outstanding work by England. Cook has played a great innings.
Prior has supported him wonderfully.

Commentators orgasming over Cook's innings. Gangers believes it " right up here among the best I have ever seen".

Think Trev said that Prior's entering into England ATG status. TBH, it's becoming less and less of a bad call. Certainly, I don't think even Stewart (when gloving) was as prominent in his batting contributions.
Re: India v England, 1st Test, Ahmedabad, 15-19 November, 2012
Got to be Chef's best hundred, far better than his 294, special innings.
And Ganguly loved Chef when he was scoring his 'boring' 294 in England too.
Top effort from Prior as well. How'd he go as a specialist batsman?

Awesome stuff from Cook and Prior, but I worry what a new day will bring. Can they get back into the zone again tomorrow morning? Need to bat until at least an hour after lunch to have a chance of saving this game.
India under Dhoni don't have a great history when it comes to making a dash at a target with a run rate above 4. If we can set them about 150 with 40 overs left, they'll shut up shop pretty quickly if Sehwag goes early.

England will still need to be batting at tea to have a chance of saving the game.

I agree. And I think that Prior and Cook will have to be batting past lunch for us to do that.

Beginning to remind me of Athers and Jack Russell at the Wanderers.

I thought I'd just heard the commentators declare something called the 'Center Fresh most expensive over of the day'.
Not sure why Center Fresh would want to associate their product - chewing gum- with an embarrassing, negative stat, but perhaps i'm not privy to the inner workings of genius.

Whatever next, 'The Domestos Toilet Break' where there's some sort of faeces camera... 'oh and look, Matt Prior must have had sweetcorn last night'
