Australia v England, 3rd Test, Perth, 14-18 December, 2017
Aus squad named for Perth...
Steve Smith (c), David Warner (vc), Cameron Bancroft, Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Tim Paine, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Jackson Bird
It's ferkin scary that the only option to replace the shaky Wank is the regrettable Puddle. Really NSP???

Sometimes I scare myself.
MM will be in.
MM will be in.

Wouldn't that just be the ultimate in Australian arrogance ?
You lot are so poor, we'll give you a slapping even with two Marshes in the XI ?

A fair point, Growls. Very arrogant of the NSP.

Bring back Rod and Geoff, and you would still win.

To be fair though - Marsh the Elder has justified his place, so my comment was a bit tongue in cheek.
That said though, the way Jimmy played with Peter Handscomb the other night was a thing of beauty for a Pom - rather less so for you boys, I guess. Poor bugger really didn't know whether to 'ave a piss or get off the pot. He can't be as poor as he looked in that innings - but a repeat at Perth surely means taking him out of the firing line before his confidence is shot for good. He looked utterly clueless.

Anyhooo - it won't make any difference to the result whether MM plays or not, and however ill at ease Handscomb may be.
IMO the difference is still batting more than bowling.
Whilst our attack isn't threatening (mainly by bowling too short), your batsmen are dismissed with the good balls among all the the ordinary stuff, which they score off, plus your lower order is better.
Your attack, on the other hand, don't bowl so much dreck, and our top order have usually dealt with it adequately. What we have done all too often, is to choose the rare shit ball a yard outside off - and have a mighty hoick, or half-arsed waft. It's almost like 7 David Gowers and a tail  . In addition, the extra pace of your attack will always be a factor regarding the tail of any team ..... we don't clean out 8-9-10-J efficiently as often as we should.

Aye, Growls. And it makes the selection of Mitch Marsh all the more galling. Handscom clearly needs a spell to get his head right and adjust his ridiculously exaggerated back play. But M Marsh IS NOT the solution. The long experiment with him failed.
Here was the chance for the NSP to address the long term problem we've had at 6. Move Shaun Marsh to 5 and play a Travis Head, Callum Ferguson, Kurtis Patterson or some other specialist. Forget this ridiculous quest for an allrounder.

Geebers the Schoolgirl at least had pretences to being a cricketer. Mere Marsh is the best example of the need to eliminate inherited wealth and privilege.
I take it Embee has resumed his barracking for both the Stinking Bog and the blunt steak knives.

Faaaakk. Just saw the human heartstring tear interviewed on the ABC. Clearly believes or has been told he is playing. Yabbered on about how great it will be to play with Stinking Bog at the last WACA test.

I've never stopped doubting their ability , h
Didnt think Puddle should have been selected when he was
Dont think he should be selected now ..
Have always said Shaun should be selected when his brain is right ...which it is at the moment
Mitch Marsh needs some ****** in his attitude
He is more talented than Ben Stokes but chokes on the big stage when he should be showing it ....Stokes attitude is the thing that takes him way past Marsh in results

Poms are playing a CA XI in Perth this weekend (at Richardson Park ...not the WACA)
England 12-man squad: Moeen Ali (capt), Jake Ball, Gary Ballance, Mason Crane, Tom Curran, Ben Duckett, Ben Foakes (wk), Keaton Jennings, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Liam Livingstone, Mark Wood
Shouldn't Moeen be resting his finger?

fair enough. Bog is a headcase. However I have not seen a scintilla of talent at Test level. His first class averages with bat and ball are ordinary and are woeful at Test level. Both brothers have been significant contributors to Test losses. Bog at least has occasionally contributed to a win..

Not a scintilla?? Really?? He scored a very fine century on debut in Sri Lanka. And has made 4 other Test tons. That's a shitload more than most other Aus FC bats.
Personally, I think there are few batsmen in Aus that look as good at the wicket as Bog does when he's on. His straight play is immaculate and his horizontal bat shots are a thing of beauty.
The missing link are the brain fades. If he can rid himself of them, he can be the next Paris for a couple of years.

Sorry for the confusion S. I was referring to Marsh Minor and the absence of demonstrated talent.
