WI loss ..putting things in perspective!!
The players just looked short of match practice..
This was the first time Gayle, Chanderpaul, Bravo and co. batted in a first class fixture since the tour to England. They looked underprepared. the players who performed in this match were the same players who actually played cricket of a reasonable standard in the last 5 months..
I am not reading too much in this result.

I agree to some extent, and nobody seems to be able to challenge Australia at the GABBA. But we certainly should not be beaten in 3 days with the batsmen we have at our disposal.

I am not suprised at all. Players like Gayle and Chanderpaul are touch players in that they need the match preparation to get form. The fact that we keep playing series after series without match preparation or decent camps is a major reasons why our performances are so inconsistent

Well the WICB agree to these itinerarys unfortunately. I'd have still liked to have seen a lot more fight from the senior players though. They may be out of form but Shiv and Bravo just gave their wickets away with those pull shots. It was shameful that the established players left all the work to a 30 year old scab, a 23 year old keeper batsman and a 19 year old opener.
I expect more from the team given the talent we have at our disposal. Yes, they did not get enough practice but I am tired of excuses, one of them should have been man enough to dig in and make it a contest at least.

Also on a positive note, the defeat by an innings and 250 was avoided.

Also Dwayne Bravo avoided the pair and Brendan Nash scored a test run against Australia.

you can say that again..
also think Gayle has become a rubbish captain and must be replaced(will Sarwan be any good?)
Good news is that the pitch for the next test is BY FAR the best batting surface in AUS so things willl and SHOULD improve.
