Re: All time WI XI
Interesting that the only changes in the Readers' XI are Haynes for Hunte and Dujon for Hendriks further increasing the preponderance of the 1980s side. I rather like the idea of Roy Fredericks to partner Greenidge though. The opening partnership would either make very little or 200 before lunch.

Re: All time WI XI
Hunte has a Test average of 45.06 bettering that of both Fredericks and Haynes so deserves his inclusion. He would provide some contrasting stability to the other 5 firecrackers in the top 6.
He was unlucky not to succeed Worrell (to whom he was a loyal vice-captain as he was to Sobers) as captain and he would be my, admittedly eccentric, choice to captain the side in the absence of Lloyd or Worrell despite the fact that he never captained the Windies at Test level.

Rather like the Lord's groundsman whom the commentators are always careful to refer to as "Mick" rather than "Mike" when using his surname.

Headley would have to walk, he spent most of his test career playing against virutal 2nd 11's from ENG and AUS

Re: All time WI XI
The Windies did play a full-strength England side under Jardine in 1933 (and Headley smashed a brilliant 169 against them at Old Trafford) although it is true that Hedley Verity and Bill Bowes (as well as Sutcliffe) were notable absentees from Bob Wyatt's 1935 side which toured the Caribbean. As Headley did not go on the West Indies' inaugural tour of England in 1928 he never faced Larwood, so you may have a point.
Bradman appeared for Australia in the 1930-31 series against West Indies, the only occasion when the "Black" Bradman and the "white" Bradman faced each other on the field of play. The white Bradman came out on top with 447 runs @74.50, an average only bettered by Woodfull whilst Headley came 6th in the overall averages behind Woodfull, Bradman, Fairfax, Kippax and Grant with 336 runs @37.33 although both made 2 centuries apiece.

The Australian Rugby League player Michael Hunt solved the problem by adopting his mother's maiden name and changing his moniker to Mick De Vere.

Although he did face Grimmett and was his victim in both innings for 0 & 11 in the 1st Test at Adelaide in December 1930 when Grimmett had match figures of 11-183 and Oz won by 10 wickets.
