Do you value Lara over Tendulkar?

Or is this just too ontological a query?

Tendulkar for me.

Preferred Lara at his peak, but due to his incredible longevity I would have to say that Tendulkar is the "greater" batsman.

Lara had more natural talent, and I would rather watch him bat on his day. Tendulkar has incredible drive and self discipline.

Give Lara Tendulkar's brain and work ethic and Lara would have averaged 60. Talent wise for me it goes Bradman>Lara>Sobers>Richards>Tendulkar, however Lara has a tormented mind, and was weighed down by the responsibility of being the one truly great player in a declining team.

lara had more flair and 'danger' and probably a better eye considering his game. i think sachin is more talented. his range of both attacking and defensive batting is greater. he plays pretty much every shot really, really well. though nowadays he prefers to not play all of them in every match

I would refer SRT in my AT XI but I enjoyed watching Lara far more. Lara had higher highs but lower lows. Great fun.

If I wanted a player to win or save a game for me, from a near impossible position, I'd choose Lara every time. If I had 3-400 on the board and still wanted runs, I'd take Tendulkar, who never lost his thirst for runs even when a game was coasting, or dead.

Lara was an artist, Tendulkar is a machine. They'd both make the XI of greatest players i've ever seen.
