SA will win the world cup

reason being the additional spinner.

Peter Roebuck predicted that 2011 would be "the year of the choker". Don't know if he meant we'll win the CWC, or whether there would be an awful lot of choking going on.

I said in the World Cup thread that this looks a very, very good Saffie side with a brilliantly balanced attack of 3 good spinners plus 3 class quicks. Only the perennial Yarp choke can stand in the way.

Could be but i don't think an extra spinner is the difference. India v SA on the 12th March will be a good indication.

Shippy thinks that X should be on the next plane but i'd be more than happy to see Paris or some other nondescript pace bowler go with a Shield final looming.

Then again, the steel Paris adds to the middle, plus the useful offies and lefty darts from Nikki and Pup, probably is the better way to go.

With SA now likely to qualify lower, they could meet the likes of oz in the quarters. It would be a merciful departure from then. The sooner they disappear, they sooner they can forget about when their next choke will be.

Well, South Africa are already through to the next round (I think?), so this choke wont directly affect their progress in the tournament.

Actually been here for a few days now and unlike Taipan, was here during the game.
