beamer wrote:One of the major features of sports like tennis is that there's no running down the clock, you have to close it out which takes some nerve to do. Players win from 2 sets down, 2 sets and a break, multiple match points. It does happen, just more unlikely against Nadal than anyone else, perhaps ever.Yorkie Jill wrote:well if you're rubbish, why would you do the Tour de France? Don't people just drop out if they get so far behind? But Murray's not rubbish, and he was ahead, but by the time you're serving to stay in the match at 40-15 down, where your opponent just needs one shot to win and you need to win this game, then the set, then the next set. Unreal.
And I like to watch it, sometimes, but I just marvel at their optimism, and the fact they don't start to cry when it's all stacked against them.
eee, well Dello, you know, I was in Spain in 2008 when that Nadal bloke won Wimbers then, and it wasn't arf a party. I drew the line at blacking up though.

So ... 1 v 2 in the Mens Final; something like 182 v 267 in the Womens?

Murray just hasn't got the mental strength to win a grand slam. F*cking weak Scot.

Neither of these women can serve. It all comes down to who can hold receive better.

Good to see that screeching isn't enough to get Sharapova over the line. Far too much noise!

Imagining Sharapova serving and receiving is almost enough. The grunts, though; I mean enthusiasm is nice, but it might be a bit much.

Actually caught the 3rd set of the Boys Final on Foxy late this arvo. The pommy lad Broady was a very pretty boy - real boy band material. Lots of wet knickers in the crowd.
Interesting to see if the Aus lad Saville kicks on.
