Sri Lanka v England, 2nd Test, Colombo, 9-13th Dec
Which is more unlikely, England posting 300+ or taking 20 wickets?

Or, based on recent history, this thread not ending in a recriminations, assigning blame, etc.

Hoggard being out would be a massive blow for england but if they can handle murali i still think they can expose Sri lanka's lack of depth.
With sanath and attapatu gone so much rides on so few for Sri Lanka now.

England to rack up 500 batting first...
...and still lose.

Have they flown in six new batsmen that I'm unaware of?
Or was that a typo and you meant 50?
Re: Sri Lanka v England, 2nd Test, Colombo, 9-13th Dec
Gus: That would be quite an effort. It'd take England two days to make 500 against Murali et al, so I think 500 would see them safe.

It must have taken us the best part of two days to rack up 551 or so in Adelaide, yet we lost that.
Seriously, it won't happen. But I think England will rack up a big score for some reason. Probably culminating in a draw...

England prepare to put faith in Harmison
Andrew Miller in Colombo
December 7, 2007
Steve Harmison is in line for his first Test appearance since the West Indies series in June, after Peter Moores, England's coach, conceded that Matthew Hoggard's prospects of being fit in time for Sunday's second Test at Colombo are extremely doubtful. Though Hoggard batted in England's training session at the Premadasa Stadium on Friday, he has not attempted to bowl since injuring his back during Sri Lanka's second innings at Kandy, and Moores conceded that time was running out.

Thank God. Anderson's been dropped. Panesar, Harmison, Broad, and Sidebottom. Everything else is the same. Bopara over Shah which is just a stupid decision IMO.

Swann not playing takes the prize for the stupidest decision though.
