Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle, 22-26 June, 2012
They declare. Complete waste of an innings and 40 overs.
Stat man should know that the highest successful chase in Galle is 96, and it's Pakistan's batting.skully wrote:What chance the Lankans being rolled for 160 and the Waksters chasing down 530 in 5½ sessions??

This is rapidly turning into one of the biggest thrashings of all time.

At least the Pakistan team didn't let Lankan stupidity to cloud their gashness.

SL are broke. Doesn't anyone else think they just wanted an extra day's gate receipts?
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle, 22-26 June, 2012
Normally Davies and Gould are fairly good umpires so their performance in this match has been shocking! About 10 decisions have gone against Pakistan and 3 against SL.

You're only talking about it because the DRS isn't there! Ramiz said what we all think - it should be mandatory and the ICC should be footing the bill!
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle, 22-26 June, 2012
Well even if the DRS isn't there the umpires should still perform at a decent level which clearly hasn't happened.
SL have had 4 really fine performance especially the one by Sanga but they have all been some what overshadowed by the umpiring.

Boo hoo. They've still drilled you into the ground.

Pakistan have dominated test cricket over the last year so they were inevitably going to lose once for a change(especially under the new captain and SL's strength at home ). I don't mind the occasional loss but the umpiring has really brought the game in to disrepute.

We can all just be glad that SL are looking like winning.

Really. Apart from the test series against England who did they dominate?
You really live in your own world.

Pakistan have been unlucky in this match. Sri Lanka have virtually had home umpires.

On the plus side, the umpires haven't reported Ajmal for chucking - swings and roundabouts.
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle, 22-26 June, 2012
Before the series SL's coach thought that the Pakistani spinners were well ahead of SL's spinners but it seems that both Lankan spinners have done better than Rehman.

Well done to Lanka. Really didn't allow any Pak batsman to make a fight of it. I always remember the Indo-Pak tests of Faisalabad [2006] and Kolkotta [1999] with disgust and shame. Putting Pak in and having them on the ropes at 30/6 and still losing both tests like a club side. Lankans did well not to get complacent here. Very well.

Poor Sanga ... he'd have loved to have added that second innings 1 to his first innings.
Rain pending, and lots of it? Pakistan's only hope (for a draw), you'd think.

Futile hopes in the end. 300 all out
Now for the usual Lankan cock up of a series lead.
