Re: Goodbye
why won't he be back, did anyone stomp on his nuts on this board ?
find it strange for a true-blue aussie who never tires of reminding the darkies not to whinge, the person takes offence at most minor of pokes.

Re: Goodbye
He just got sick of the place bucky; there was no specific incident.
Unlike some of us, he's been strong enough to stay away permanently having made that decision.

Re: Goodbye
Come on lards, it's not a sign of weakness to start posting again after self-imposed exile! If you were going back to crack addiction then you might start to have an argument but coming back and chatting about cricket (sometimes) with some like minded people isn't weakness it's just human.

Aye Vilks. At times I wonder if those MIA don't lurk and get a kick out of people still talking about them.

Re: Goodbye
If it was severely impacting someone's life I could understand, people get addicted to all sorts of things, but I don't think I've really noticed anything like that with anyone here. Danny posts a lot at work (as do I, recently anyway) but speaking personally I only do that if there's a lull, if it's non stop busy I don't feel the need to get a post in.taipan wrote:vilkrang wrote:Come on lards, it's not a sign of weakness to start posting again after self-imposed exile! Each to their own and I don't know Zat's reasons, maybe it was having a serious impact on his life in which case fair enough for leaving, but if not then I see no reason for him not to return.
"Shit fests" seem to be a thing of the past and speaking personally I feel like I'm on good terms with all of my ex sparring partners. There's a couple of people I still aim the odd jab at but there's no malice and it never seems to escalate anymore as it used to.
Everyone on here seems to be genuinely decent when it comes down to it which is why over time I think we all get on better despite the odd place of disagreement.
I love this place, can't see a reason to ever stop posting permanently now. There was a time when it was shit fest after shit fest but I feel like we've moved on from that.
Would be good be good to see him posting again and whilst I don't agree with his reasons for staying gone I of course wish him all the best.

I agree with you; just reporting Zat's comments to me, and my perception of his relative strength in sticking to that plan when I've failed to make a permanent break a few times (although the planned 'Sabbaticals' always work).

Re: Goodbye
I just wouldn't look at it at a failure on your part. If I today decide to stop playing pool it won't be a failure if in a year I take it up again, just a change of heart.lardbucket wrote:vilkrang wrote:Come on lards, it's not a sign of weakness to start posting again after self-imposed exile! Like Lardy, Zat is a mate of mine, and I have tried to coax him back. We catch up occasionally for a drink (we don't live in the same cities) and semi-regularly via SMS, and life is very busy and very good for him right now. So he's been good to his word and intends to stay so. I don't think he'll back down on his word. More's the shame.

Who the f*ck hasn't heard of Tron?
We should wear it as badge of honour - we broke Zat. That's Flaming Bailsin' at it's best.

Re: Goodbye
We didn't break shit. It's not the psychological Olympics on here. It's a f*cking forum, where people type messages and sometime get a reply. You're all acting like Sanjeev de Alwis. Talk to Frank. Go to Specsavers. Wrigley's spearmint gum, share it with someone.
