Ah yes Venkat.

And the funny thing is that Venkat was best friends with Nasser's Dad. Nasser reckoned Venkat was so conscious of not being biased towards his best mate's son, that he actually went too far the other way.

Yeah, they were teammates in club cricket too, and Venkat played in Joe's only match.

Behind Venkat there are some great umpires, like Dotiwala. Well, at least a great name.

The problem is that as techno keeps improving it is showing up more and more errors.

Fair point. Making wrong decisions from the third umpire's position, otoh. Umpiring to spinners has improved, not to mention that Ashoka de Silva was an international umpire a decade ago.
