BanIndia 5xODI + 3xT20 tour of Oz, 12-31 Jan, 2016
T20 tonight against a wozzie XI
I've umpired a few of the wozzie team ...we must be scraping the barrel
WA XI skipper Will Bosisto says it’s not everyday you take on an international team and cannot wait to lead his side against India in two tour matches at the WACA Ground.
The 22-year-old batsman was part of the WA side which faced New Zealand a few months ago in a tour match, while he’s previously played Bangladesh for an Australian XI early last year too.
Bosisto, who made his maiden Sheffield Shield century earlier this season, is excited about the opportunity to face the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup champions.
"It’s not everyday you get to play against an international team,” Bosisto said. "We know how many good players they’ve got, with some superstars on the world stage.
"It’s really a good opportunity for a few WA boys to test themselves against top-quality opposition.”
It comes as no surprise that Bosisto was particularly keen to face Indian superstars MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, however the part-time off-spinner earmarked a few others he was eager to learn off.
"Ravi Ashwin and Jadeja, I want to see what their spinners do well,” Bosisto said.
"They dominate in their conditions and it’ll be interesting to see how they go about their business over here. I’m looking forward to talking to them.”
Bosisto isn’t part of the Perth Scorchers for BBL|05 and hasn’t played at the top level since WA’s Sheffield Shield win over Tasmania in early December. He played a few games for University at local level in December, but has enjoyed the WA Premier Cricket break over the past fortnight.
After his breakthrough ton against Victoria in November, he’s had two lean matches with the bat and is keen to use the India games as good preparation for the second-half of the season.
"It is ideal preparation batting at the WACA,” the University right-hander said.
"Unless you’re playing Shield cricket regularly, you don’t get too many opportunities to play at the WACA and it is my home ground.
"I’ve had seven or eight days break which we don’t normally get, so it was a good chance to freshen up.”

Joel Paris and Scott Boland both to make ODI debuts at WACA as Shaun Marsh misses out
Western Australian Joel Paris will make his international debut in front of a packed home crowd, as will Victorian paceman Scott Boland, as Australia face India in the series-opening Victoria Bitter One-Day International Series clash with Australia at the WACA Ground tomorrow. A 23-year-old left-armer, Paris has been fast-tracked into the Australia squad following the retirement of Mitchell Johnson and injury to Mitchell Starc. Selection is also just reward for Boland, who has leapt into the national picture and been on the fringes of the Australian Test team this summer. Australia XI: Warner, Finch, Smith (c), Bailey, Maxwell, M Marsh, Wade (wk), Faulkner, Paris, Boland, Hazlewood. Shaun Marsh, who has scored 218 runs in five matches for the Perth Scorchers at 72.67 and a strike-rate of 128.24, misses out on a return to the Australian team with veteran George Bailey filling the batting spot left by the retirement of former captain Michael Clarke. Australia will again wear gold in their home ODIs after returning to the colour during last year's successful World Cup campaign. There is also an expected return of the floppy gold hat, worn by Bailey at training today. India have yet to name their playing XI, but uncapped paceman Barinder Sran looks set to make his international debut following the series-ending injury to Mohammed Shami. Shami re-injured his hamstring in the warm up of India's Twenty20 match against a Western Australia XI on Friday, and was ruled out of the tour on Saturday. He is expected to miss four to six weeks with the injury, sustained at training prior to Friday's T20 tour match against a Western Australia XI at the WACA Ground. Shami, who had taken 87 wickets in 47 one-day internationals, was India's second-highest wicket-taker in last year's ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, claiming 17 wickets in seven matches. Bailey has predicted Australia's rivalry with India would be as strong as ever, despite the retirements of a host of key players since last year's World Cup. Former captain Clarke, paceman Johnson, and wicketkeeper Brad Haddin have all retired from ODI cricket, while allrounder Shane Watson has fallen out of favour. In contrast, none of the Indian XI who featured in the World Cup semi-final loss to Australia have retired and they boast three of the world's top 10 ranked ODI batsmen in Virat Kohli (2), MS Dhoni (6) and Shikhar Dhawan (7). Fast bowler Bhuvenshwar Kumar has joined the India squad to replace Shami. The WACA ODI is the first meeting between the teams since last year's World Cup semi-final at the SCG, which was watched by an estimated 300 million fans in India. A Steve Smith century and three wickets to James Faulkner on that occassion helped Australia to a 95-run win, ending India's title defence and setting the host nation up for their victory against New Zealand in the final.

It's hard to fathom why Khawaja isn't in the Aus ODI squad considering the way he's batting at the moment. Best batsman in Australia on form at the moment.

What are the odds on a blue between the GCS and Viral E-Coli?
When the blue happens, expect Captain SF to say, nothing to see here.

No one in Australia has cared about ODIs since about 2008. Even the World Cup last year struggled to really take off in Aus.
