Geez, 171 runs in the day. Lordy, what a grind.
Anywho, well done to Bonner on his ton, even if it took forever.

We need a few more who can play an innings like that. You won’t learn that on an English pitch in September, though.

Unhappily Merlin bathes in that gin.

Set up for a decent match.

It will be a bore draw if the last two days are anything like the third. Though England don’t have the patience for batting on such a pudding and will no doubt be four down before reaching parity, so the home side are big favourites.JGK wrote:Set up for a decent match.

The Zak Attack (or is it defence) makes it to 20, that’s a milestone at least by our opening partnership standards…

Wood "might" be able to bowl in the second innings. Why risk him - lets get out of this test and regroup.
Of course, Woakes might take 6/30 and bowl us to victory.

Poms lead by 153 at stumps. (top knocks from Creepy and Neph)
What chance the Poms go a smash and grab in the morning session and declare at lunch with a lead of around 300?
I have enjoyed the bits and pieces I have watched. Pretty good crowds have attended and there has been a fun atmosphere. It seems to be a wonderful ground and one that would be great to attend.

Well done to Creepy on his ton.
Hard to see a result from here.

Yeah, too much to do to force a result on that pitch. Plenty of positives though, including more England batsmen scoring centuries than did so in the whole of 2021.
Questions about the bowling attack for next week though, particularly if Wood is unfit.

Do they dare risk Robinson? A test debut for Saqib beckons methinks.

Surely the point of not touring the Anderoads was to try out Saqib and or Fisher

Yeah, makes sense to look at at least one of them. Racist Robbo can take another week to recover. Don’t know if playing two spinners will be an option, depends on the pitch.
