Been away for a few days attending a favourite Aunt's funeral.

Didn't realise this Test was on.

Lanka chose to bat and are 1-13.

They’re packing in the cricket in SL right now, surprising given other events there.

Hosts crumbling on this occasion in the face of Pakistan’s formidable attack.

Geez, Lanka were 8-133 and managed to scrape up to 222!! Could be vital in the long run.

Pakistan collapsing - 7/92

Once again, it is Jayasuriya causing the damage. He now has michelles in his first 3 innings in test cricket.

However, Babar is still there on 30 not out.

Lovely. Especially being 130/8 yesterday.

Considering he got a bit lucky with his debut with covid etc... Jayasuriya has done brilliantly.

Elephant Man holding up the Lankans - 60*.

Great effort by Jayasuriya to get 3 straight michelles in his 1st 3 bowling innings.

Jayasuriya must be a chance of taking a new Test record. He now shares the feat of 3 consecutive 5-fers from the start of his Test career with Eng's Tom Richardson, and Aus's Clarrie Grimmett.

Special mention to Aus's Charlie Turner whose first 10 Test bowling innings saw him take 6, 2, 5, 4, 5, 7, 5, 5, 6 and 5 wkt hauls. Amazing.

How good is Babar?

108 not out at the moment with the 10th wicket partnership currently worth 59 runs.

I have a question regarding Ramesh Mendis.

On his Cricinfo Bio page, his full name is given as Wanigamuni Ramesh Tarinda Mendis.

However, on statistics pages, he is shown as RTM Mendis, rather than WRT Mendis. Why is this so?

e.g.
https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/records/averages/batting_bowling_by_team.html?id=14528;team=8;type=series

Pak target 340. Seems unlikely.

Wonder if Jaya will get his 4th michelle in a row.

Good start by Pak. 0-57.

The Wackie Tobaccies on track.

At Stumps on Day 4 they have 7 wickets in hand & need 120 runs.

Ton to Abdullah Shafique & 50 from Babar to go with his I1 ton.

Jaya has 2 so is on track for 4 consecutive michelles from his debut.

Wackies maybe just faves now.

Pakistan now 6 down with 39 runs needed.

The wicket was Hasan Ali who seemed intent on throwing his bat but was caught off de Silva. Thought it was a bit odd that that he would be promoted above Mohammad Nawaz.
