And amazingly, Eldine Baptiste played 10 Tests for 10 wins. Gilly held the record for most Tests - all as wins - at 15 by the end of the original Streak (Healy was keeper in the first of the 16 wins), then we got beaten from nowhere by VVS and Dravid in India 2001.

The best thing about many of these 'Ringo' selections is that the under-performing player was picked for a series-wining team throughout the series in question ... Jones, Hohns, Bell, Brearley, Turner, and (I think) Lance ... who is a bit out of place in that lot.
If we were to make this requirement more stringent, rather than allowing players like Hampshire and Cosier (who featured in only a minority of the Tests of the series in question) ...
How about England's keeper in the Ashes 1985?
Any other outstanding nominations?

Re: Ringo Starr Invitational XI
Barney Julien was a bit unlucky. He matched Sobers shot for shot when he made his first Test ton at Lords in 1973, and took wickets as well, made another century v India later in 1974, kept Andy Roberts out of the side throughout WI v Eng 74, went to Australia, got injured, went home and by the time he was fit again he'd been overtaken by not only Roberts but also Holding, Daniel, Garner, Croft and about 254 others. FFS even Marshall had to fight his way through that crowd for a regular gig, so the likes of Julien were well and truly doomed.

He did get an excellent view of much of Roy Fredericks' innings at the WACA; probably a better view than most.

Re: Ringo Starr Invitational XI
He did indeed.
And the way Australia's Flab Four bowled at Roy that day, Barney was in the least danger of physical harm from Frederick's batting of anybody in the WACA, or even anywhere between the WACA and Rottnest Island.

If you've got Bell and Jones from the 2005 Ashes side (really, a legendary team?) how can you not have the worst player to have played over fifty Tests, the King of Spain, Ashley Giles?
Re: Ringo Starr Invitational XI
Giles was so zero-impact that I literally forgot all about him.

Re: Ringo Starr Invitational XI
I know he doesn't qualify under the "Not particularly legendary members of legendary teams" rule but the ACT wicketkeeper might be worth considering for the Arse Tar Invitational XI.

Yes, Haddin did play for the Canberra Crapmerchants (or whatever they were called) those couple of years in the late 90s when they played in the BorING Cup (or whatever it was called).
