Oh well. At least he didn't put an axe through someone's head just because they were black like his delightful older brother. Small mercies, eh?
I wonder if Newcastle will transfer list him? It's got to be the final straw.
TBH, I hope he gets rinsed and rinsed and rinsed in prison - he's one of the most awful human beings to have played professional football.

Indeed, probably what he needs.

And to think... the pr!ck was on the fringes of playing regularly for England - well certainly touted by all the "pundits".!

Just got home in time to see the final tonight.
Can't work out who to cheer for. The United gloating will be immense if they win, yet somehow I just can't bring myself to want the soulless rentboys to win.

In tree-hugging hippie style, I'm just hoping for a good game, man.
The FA Cup final between these two last year was so deathly dull, even Rangers fans thought it was unwatchable.

And it goes to penalties.
Chelsea clear favourites with a German in their side.

Yet for some reason rely on an Englishman to take the match winning spot kick.

Re: The EPL thread (IV)
Chelsea are never going to progress if they aren't happy with 2nd in the Premiership and 2 finals (one the CL) in a manager's first season in charge. It's quite laughable, I'd be surprised if whoever comes in next season does any better. Will they get the sack as well if they don't?Lara Lara Laughs wrote:They've sacked Avram.

Not a massive surprise. The players didn't rate him. And he didn't play Abramovich's best friend Shevchenko nearly enough. Bad combination.
Re: The EPL thread (IV)
And for all his promises about 'style' they were still boring as hell to watch considering how much blood money the rusky has pumped into them.

i think chelsea did improve their play under grant. you cant expect them to start playing like arsenal in avrams first season with basically the same players. i feel for the guy - dignified under constant scrutiny and did well. were unlucky in the CL final.

Re: The EPL thread (IV)
I guess this comment now qualifies as EPL, given Hull's promotion yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the Championship playoff Final, even though it was a not-surprising 1-0 result (as most of these playoff Final games seem to be - with so much at stake).
Cracking goal by Dean Windass, and is there any better fairytale story than his? Carried his beloved Tigers on his portly pub bovver boy shoulders from League 2 to League 1 to the Championship, and now to the pinnacle, in just 5 short years. Remarkable effort for a 39 year old. I hope he runs around in the EPL next year. Great, great story.

Re: The EPL thread (IV)
My brother and I were having a conversation today about which is the greatest English club as far as performance goes. A few years ago it would obviously have been Liverpool but United is getting close, especially after this year. Liverpool's great Euro winning record still clinches it though.
In a couple of years time, Man U may well be undisputed No 1.
Major honours to date (excluding Charity Shield and Super Cups):
Liverpool
League -18 times, RU 11 times
FA Cup: 7 times, RU 6 times
League Cup: 7 times, RU 3
Euro Cup/ Champs League: 5 wins and 3 RU
Cup Winners Cup/ UEFA Cup: 3 wins, 1 RU
Man U (couldn't find their RU titles)
League: 17 times

Cup Winners Cup/ UEFA Cup: 1 win

Bad luck to dirty Leeds United in the play-offs although from what I hear Donny fully deserved the win.

Aye, well done indeed. It was not that long ago that Donny went out of the league and looked likely candidates to fold.

Was having the same conversation with a couple of ManUre fans at a wedding on Friday.
We got part way towards trying to come up with a 'points' system to reflect the relative merits of each trophy . . . then we just decided to get pished instead!
We didn't have the exact stats to hand (obviously), but came to pretty much the same conclusion.
A Prem title chase is still a long way off for Liverpool, so yes, I think it's fair to say that in 5 years United could well have nipped in front. The crunch for them will come when Professor Arse finally retires.

Glad you enjoyed it but you give Deano a little bit too much credit. We go the 2 previous promotions without him, the credit for them should go to the likes of Peter Taylor, Adam Pearson, Stuart Elliot and Ian Ashbee (possibly will become the first man to captain the same team in all 4 leagues?!).skully wrote:I guess this comment now qualifies as EPL, given Hull's promotion yesterday. Deano only came back to Hull City part way through last season, scored the goals to keep us in the championship and this season has been one of the key men in our promotion. So still an absolute legend! Phil Brown the manager deserves a huge hunk of praise too for having the sense to bring him to Hull after the previous 2 managers had turned him down. How I would love him to end his last season by scoring the goal to keep us in the premiership...dare to dream.
We need a big favour from Sir Alex now...please let us keep Campbell!
