Hello everyone.

I've been asked by Jack to thank you all for hours of fun.

Unfortunately, his latest check up has shown a recurrence of his stomach cancer and he is on his way back to Australia for treatment. Things don't look good.

I am covering for him at his office and will occassionally pass on messages from him.

The one thing he wants to say at this moment is how mch he enjoyed shooting the shit with you all, and how much he appreciates your interest in the great game (I prefer tennis myself).

So cheers from Jack and let's hope he will get through.

Shit. We don't get on great, but I certainly wish him no harm. That's dreadful news. Hope the treatment and recovery goes well.

The message is certainly oddly worded.

Good luck, to anyone suffering.

Snap out of it, to anyone cynically fooling.

It does coincide with a departure brought on by an increase in his 'cock-knocker factor' but that doesn't mean shit. He's said before that he had, and fought off, stomach cancer. Maybe he hasn't. I doubt we'll ever know. But I for one believe it.

If it is ever established that this is some sick sort of joke from tac, one can only hope that Dello bans him. Who would want to tempt fate by making up this sort of thing?

Meh, I wasn't convinced the first time he brought his illness up and I'm pretty sure this is untrue.

I'd have to be a goon to believe that, while tac is fighting stomach cancer, he's going to call Japan from Australia, just so that he can pass on messages for a colleague to post on this forum.

If I had cancer, leaving messages with friends to post on a cricket forum wouldn't be a priority for me. Besides, if I had the energy to call or email someone, I'd have the energy to post the message myself.

If I'm wrong then I'm wrong and I wish him all the best but, like I said, I don't believe this for a second. Nice try though tac. Feel free to pm me to tell me I'm right. I won't tell. Wink

For all his shortcomings, I don't for a moment think that tac would be that cynical as to seek sympathy from the recurrance of his cancer.
As Trev points out - why tempt fate?

Anyway, that's really shit luck.
I wish him all the best and hope he makes a full recovery.

I believe it's true and despite all our past 'differences' I've always wished him good health. If it does turn out to be false then I wish him good mental health.

Either way, good luck Jack.

Don't let it?

It really pisses me off when I hear it said that so and so, "lost their battle with cancer......."
It's not something you can choose to fight or battle.

Not so sure about that: I knew someone many years ago who had cancer, but lived longer than the experts predicted through sheer iron will and cussedness.

Oh yes, and what about Jane Tomlinson - how would you describe her struggle if not a "battle"?
