The best game money can buy . . .
So, the rumor doing the rounds in SA is that India and pakistan were gifted their places in the final to help their fans forget the World Cup debacle earlier in the year and to ensure this tournament is a success.
The theory asks what else would explain NZs performance v Pakistan and the Aussies throwing away a winning position against India with Haydos and Token allowing themselves to be bowled.
I don't believe it myself . . .

And I do believe I saw Elvis in the crowd - sharing a beer with Lord Lucan.

Hard to argue with the above points. Well, it's probably not but blah.

NZ - suddenly realised they were in a semi-final so it was time to head home. Happens all the time.
Hayden & Symonds - well they were clearly intimidated by SreeSanth offering them outside. Infact on the replay you can clearly see Hayden's bottom lip quivering before that delivery was bowled.
After that there was the confusion over the runner, Hayden only eventually agreed to come back out after several guarentees from the Indian team that SreeSanth would remain on the other side of the field.

Well... it would be 'clever' then, but it still wouldn't be 'big'.

Depends. Would said gerbil be a fan of Laggers? If so, I'd question it's intellect.

dunno about NZ or AUS but SA not getting 126 was more than a bit suspicious - as if they completely switched off.

To be fair, that's not really unheard of in South African cricket when they are close to winning or in this case qualifying. They could have lost and India would have still gone through. Why be charitable to NZ?
